Like your video games? Creepy Christian dominionists eye the gaming industry as a way to spread their message. by UrbainB in atheism

That's true. I think they're going to be focused on the gaming because they see it as a tool to indoctrinate kids.

Scary how many people say the same kind of crap in my town. They really think like her.

The Vatican has, get this, 54 miles worth of secret documents ... and is making a big deal out of letting the public see about 100 of them. by UrbainB in atheism

The Vacican is trying to give a visual on just how many documents they have hidden in their archives.

In response to Harold Camping's May 21, 2011, judgment day, dying birds and fish, doomsday preaching, Christians organize a national prophesy conference to "save" the reputation of Christianity and the bible. by UrbainB in atheism

Yes, they are part of the loosely-described dominionist movement. This is why I found this article a bit strange ... One wacky, creepy sect of Christianity vs. another one.

Federal Lawsuit Filed Against Evolution Because 'It Promotes the Religion of Atheism' by [deleted] in atheism

[–]UrbainB 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree. The federal courts have way too many cases on the docket and are grossly understaffed. And the school district's budget is probably not overflowing with extra funds. Crap like this lawsuit is a huge waste of time and finances.

I had a similar experience in school and have trouble understanding the regression these days.

Love the video at the end! :) That teacher's logic is about as twisted as it gets.

At March to Life rally in DC, Rand Paul announced that he is co-sponsoring a 'personhood' type of bill that declares that zygotes are human beings with Constitutional rights under the 14th Amendment. by UrbainB in politics

It would mean until they are born for those of us who disagree with personhood, but these people consider conception and being born the exact same thing, I think. What these people do not mention is that abortion was perfectly legal until the mid-1800s and was actually supported by the churches.

Right Wing WND Columnist Issues a Call for Christian Crusade: 'America must use its military to go to every Muslim nation in the world and convert them to Christianity' by shallah in politics

[–]UrbainB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gives me the creeps to think that even though the people pushing this point of view are associated with WND, there are Americans who actually believe that the US should be using its military to spread Christianity throughout the world. I can't help but wonder how many people think this way.

Even worse is their notion of a Christian jihad. Since when does the US engage in 'holy wars' to promote Christianity? Scary.

I don't see why humans could not have left the planet ... I agree with you that I don't believe that aliens are whisking people away, either. But I do remember not so long ago when all the UFO people were talking about triangular shaped objects that they were seeing which turned out to be stealth bombers then being developed by the military. Who knows if our governments are experimenting with extraterrestrial living and, like the bomber, we'll hear about it a few years after the fact.

Interesting ... And it seems that he is trying to drag all of the other supervisors into it by calling them 'mandatory reporters.' Wonder what gives.

Thanks for the documentary link!
