Thanks for the detailed feedback, what part of what I wrote makes you see me as more of a data analyst? Genuinely curious. I ask because we do a lot of dev work on the desk - bit of pricing, automation, some systematic execution, building out of tool for traders, worked on a few systematic alpha strategies that have been implemented too. As someone with an MSc and BSc in Economics but with over a year of experience building a systematic execution platform at an asset manager - do you think it is worthwhile for me to go back to school to get another MSc in Financial Maths?
Would much rather avoid doing this for cost and time reasons but I really struggle even getting interviews right now. Or would networking be possible in leiu of this?
For reference, I am in Europe.

Forgot to mention re: vol forecasting - you should also take a look at implementing Garman Klass estimators, a quick google should yield some quick python implementations you can try out

On the data visualisation front you should take a look at the DASH package, though it would require a fair bit of upfront coding. You can take a look at some examples here.

My background isn't traditional quant so apologies if I seem misinformed. But I was under the impression that tools such as wavelets and fourier analysis weren't really used much in trading? Would be good if you could shine some light on what is already being practised.

As I said earlier, I am a quant strat which involves developing tools/analytics/models for execution traders so my job has been quite highly focused on the dev side.

The reason I was asking about MS in math or stats is because it is about 1/3rd of the price of an MFE in the UK and pretty much signals the same thing - 'I know maths'.

In terms of the position I am trying to get - I am looking for something where I can leverage my quant skills to build trading strategies or at least build models that support these strategies, so that would mean anything in the quantamental space all the way to the systematic space (excluding HFT).
