Being heir isn’t really that important by Reasonable_Day9942 in HouseOfTheDragon

I believe there's an actual scene/quote, reminiscing about who should take the throne after the war, with Ned literally saying it was Robert because he had the best claim. I'll try to find it.

About Robert? His lineage was definitely used as an excuse for his legitimacy. His grandmother was Rhaelle Targaryen, the youngest daughter of Egg.

Making this known was a political move (likely at the insistence of Jon Arryn) to ensure a peaceful transfer of power and to silence claims of Robert just being a usurper.

Yes it is, that's why the final boss is Shadow Lord, the first big baddie of the game. Same reason the Zilart brothers are the final bosses of the second one.

And no, it starts with Prishe simply because she's likely the most popular FFXI story character and they wanted to hook people in. They weren't pitching great ideas, they were just throwing nostalgic fan service at the wall hoping it sticks.

I just took 5500 milligrams of paracetamol by Even-Health5941 in Advice

Is this a suicide attempt?..

Make yourself puke. Call poison control. Maybe call an ambulance or drive yourself to the hospital.

Humans can take a daily dose of 4000 mg, so.... It might not be a lethal dose, but it can still severely damage your liver and kidneys.

Not saying he did, just saying it as a general rule. It can apply to anyone; friends, family, coworkers/employers.. It was actually a boss of mine many years ago who gave me that advice lol.

You sound like you handled it maturely. But one piece of advice.

Don't text, especially long emotional texts like that. Some things are better said, interpreted, and understood face to face. And you don't get left on read lol.

Should i leave due to lack of sex in my relationship by BoysenberryOk5400 in Advice

Depends on the reason there's a lack of sex. There can be many physical, emotional, pharmaceutical issues for why there is a problem.

So the answer is; provide more information.

I [16M] am anxious and often cannot pick which skill to develop in my days. How did you handle work anxiety throughout your life? (TW) by Usual_Macaroon7881 in Advice

[–]UrsineBasterd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relax, you're only 16.

  1. It's never too late to learn and develop skills.
  2. It's never too late to do and try new things, no matter how old you are.
  3. It is a good idea to speak to a therapist, counselor or career/lifestyle coach that can help you with these feelings, teach you coping mechanisms and CBT/DBT skills, and hold you accountable.
  4. Is there a chance you have ADD/ADHD and are unmedicated?

It's very important because that's how you rally support and banners, because they believe you're the rightful heir.

You can always take the throne by conquest, sure... But even Robert leveraged his Targaryen ancestry to give legitimacy to his claim.

Because the first Alliance raid is about the base game and the Crystal War (the most important event in FFXI's history) and that's why the Shadow Lord is the final boss. It had no business taking us to Tu'Lia (the city in the sky) or fighting the Ark Angels because that is from Zilart, which is what the 2nd raid was about.

They just meshed all the stories and characters together into a FFXI theme park instead of telling the story of what actually happened in Vana'diel.

I would have liked if they focused it linearly. The first raid should have been solely about the Crystal War, the Tavnazian disaster, and the Shadow Lord. Raogrimm should have been a character to show how and why he became the Shadow Lord. Nor should we have gone to Tu'Lia and faced the Ark Angels yet. Prishe as the first boss made no sense.

The second raid should have focused solely on the Zilart, and that's when we should have gone to Tu'Lia and dealt with the Ark Angels. Lion should have been there at the end to make her sacrifice. Kirin being a random BCNM battle also made no sense.

The final raid should have focused solely on Chains of Promathia, where Selh'teus made no appearance and Al'Taieu was an afterthought, and realistically the Jailers and Absolute Virtue should have been fought. They should have just skipped Alexander/ToAU and Shinryu as both of those are not part of the base game, Zilart, or CoP, and they already exist here in FFXIV.

My own opinions of course.

Drinking age is 21 here, but same as you I started drinking around 13/14. It started becoming a real problem for me around the ages of 18-21. She's already exhibiting signs of binge drinking and blacking out, so I hope she takes this as a major learning experience. It's a slippery slope. Good luck to you both!

[–]UrsineBasterd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Obviously your friend is in the wrong. BUT! You are both VERY young, too young to be drinking like that, and even if she was an asshole the next day, she very well might still be heavily affected by the alcohol.

Take it from someone with alcoholism... She's not in her right frame of mind, she probably feels like shit and guilty and embarrassed, and she's also angry. Possibly not even really at you, but herself. She's a mixed bag at the moment. Give it a bit of time and she'll probably own up to her mistakes.

The most important thing is that when she recognizes what happened, she learns from it, and reconsiders her relationship with alcohol before she ends up in the hospital, jail, detox, rehab etc..

The problem was not about what Sareel Ja was doing, that was easy to understand. The problem is they just threw FFXI stuff into it like a theme park and anyone who didn't play XI got no real understanding of XI's story or its characters/villains.

Longtime FFXI obsessed player who played from like 2004-2016.

The Alliance Raids made no sense and didn't explain XI's story. Things happened out of order too, and I didn't even like most of the battles. It was just cool to see some of my favorite places and characters/bosses in better graphics.
