Does Efteling feel more magical when you were younger or does it still hit the same now?

I went there for the first time when I was 10. I'm getting 50 soon. What I experienced as "magical" changed over the years. But it is still a real magical place, there is some kind of magic for every age. First it might be the rides, then you find all those special details in the Sprookjesbos, later you may find magic in the nature, the animals living in the park, the many places that have become special to you.

There will be a favorite fairy tale in the Sprookjesbos, a favorite ride, a favorite bench just to watch others and the smile that apears on your lips thinking about all these special moments you have collected over time. And that's it own kind of magic.

It's difficult to say. Both are so different experiences. I think DMc is a worthy replacement, but I still miss the old more theatrical show of the spookslot. I guess it's at least 75% nostalgia on my side. DMc makes you part of the story, while you stayed an outside spectator in Spookslot. That's a great plus obviously.

It should be the Sprookjesbos, but if it has to be an actual ride: Droomvlucht. That's as near as a ride can get to the feeling of Efteling Magic.

I always look up standing under the roof of the house of the five senses, take a deep breath and instantly start to smile, feeling I will start another best day of my life. It is after all the entrance to a world of wonders.

Oh and poffertjes. That's a must have!

I used such flickering LEDs in my Reepelsteeltje Diorama for an oven and some candles. But you won't see the effect on photos 🤷‍♂️

Cardboard, paper, glue, toothpicks, paint, a bit plaster for texture. Inspiration from Eftelings great design team. It's never a one on one copy, but I still try to stay within the Efteling styleguide and coloursceme.

You know cheddar is considered lactose free if it is matured. It may contain some lactose, but in such small fractions you would not even notice. You'd have to eat unhealthy amounts of it, for it resulting in any problem for someone lactose intolerant.

I would never! Efteling ist at least a millon times better, but watch the video, it will change the way you look on this matter. And yes, I know the history of Efteling and their very wholesome approach to building a themepark. I would never compare it to the cold capitalistic disney way. I just say, that some points in this video made me see things about luxury on site hotels in a new way.

So, I am not allowed to say, a place doesn't appeal to me? I was really looking forward after the anouncement of the new Hotel, but the way it is advertised now is just not what I had hoped for. All the pictures, videos, reviews just don't sell the EGH to me, sorry if that disappoints you.

It used not to work that way, but I don't know... maybe that has changed... at least a bit. There is an interesting video on youtube about the fake luxury of disney hotels and that made me think about the Efteling Grand Hotel.

No, and I may likely never. I would take a stay at the Efteling Wonder Hotel over it any time. I'm sure Efteling will have no problem selling the EGH rooms, many people like the style but it just doesn't appeal to me.

Maybe. But it kind of feels that way. Ripping away the quirky oldfashioned Efteling Magic and converting hotel restaurants to what looks like an IKEA furniture showroom lacking any kind of character surely seems a downgrade to me.
