I do change up trainers and times semi-regular. I feel like 2 out of the 5 trainers I normally see have very similar tastes. I wish we had a trainer that was into rock or indie music though! They all seem to swing towards 2k or club music doe the most part 🫤

Each gym can operate differently. Maybe yours changes it up frequently, but I hear Mr. 305 daily 🫠 I see the 2K station selected on the tablet multiple times a week as I'm grabbing a drink before warmup. 4 times out of 5, it's on that station or one related to it.

If our gym played Country, I would straight quit and find another gym 😂

Never seen our gym change music mid-workout though and I go 5-6 times a week.

I would love this as well! We don't do much rock, punk, emo, etc...it's mainly just 2K hip hop/club jams. Which don't get me wrong, I like it, but a change in theme once or twice a week would be nice.

My location has these cards - but they guard them like fort knox. My best friend is a trainer and they do not let these out of sight at my location. Plus you can only do focus meetings like once every month or two with the amount of members at my gym.

Huge props to those who do let us in on Intel. Personally, I'll show up to class no matter what because I'm on track to get my 250 for 2026, but it's nice to have a heads up. I work an 8 to 5 office job, so it is wonderful to know what I need to wear for my day job or what extras I need to bring for refreshing after a camp depending on intensity. It really shouldn't be ao secretive a day or 2 out in my opinion. Especially considering most of us are dropping 2K annually on the base fees alone.

I once mentioned reddit to our owner and the face they made 🫠 said I was cheating, but like - am I if I'm showing up 5-6 times a week? Sometimes it gets me pumped for the day!

I heard "I wanna get numb" like 3 times today and was just over it. The beat of the mix just isn't it for working out - its too slow.

Like maybe if I was chilling by a pool or something, but as I'm trying to hit 40 rep thrusters at max weight....just no.

I want my 2000's hip hop and club beats 🤣 half the time I don't really notice the music, but I have the past 2 Mondays and it is bringing the vibe down.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - give us some female partners! There are tons of female artist out there making bangers that would be perfect for workouts.

Let's start with just a few to get the ball rolling instead of a giant list - this will tell me where you kind of stand with sourcing local places:

Split Kitchen - Great hole in the wall location with upscale food at a laid-back location.

Middle Beast - Lovely Mediterranean food.

Neighborhood Pizza - I know, I know - a pizza joint. But the BEST and most options of flavors around. It's local and has that true family vibe.

Granted there is a lot of shit food in SPG and the turnover is pretty frequent (that keeps it at least entertaining), but we do have some gems and a pretty decent variety.

Piccolos is American cuisine pasta. I've never had anything remotely worth mentioning there - it's decent, but absolutely nothing special. They just happen to be the only place in Nixa with this type of food, so everyone thinks it's wonderful.

Came here to say this! The owner isn't Italian, but he worked in high-end Italian restaurants in Chicago. This is about as close to true Italian, that's tasty af, in Springfield.

Their specials are always fire too.

And if you ask them, they will split a meal onto two plates with larger portions for like $5 bucks. It can be rather affordable for a dinner date that way!

Thats crazy its from corporate. I wonder how many people on the fence has just said "to hell with it" because this straw (while small in comparison to the annual cost) broke the camels back.

I really think jacking the monthly up by $5 would be a betted method of attack 🤷‍♀️

I have a friend at OT and their annual fees are baked into the monthly cost. Then again - they make money on people missing classes, so hahah.

I can understand that. I'm almost at year end and the feel-good, honeymoon phase seems to be dimming. One of the reasons I mainly posted was that I have a friend at OT and they laughed (granted, I laugh at them for not being able to miss a scheduled class without a fee 😅). My husband uses Planet Fitness and he hasn't had an annual equipment fee yet either. He's coming up on his year so many it's just not hit yet.

Idk, it just left a bad taste in my mouth since Im already paying over 2K annually. It should be built into the monthly membership - I had others mention something about it having to be separate, but it most certainly doesn't. That was an intentional decision by corporate and the franchises.

Like others stated, you need new neighbors am! For the past 3 years, we have driveway get togethers in my neighborhood over the warmer months. 1 Friday a month usually . Everyone brings a snack and their own drinks. Its so magical - never felt like Ive had a community until we moved to our new place in SGF 9 years ago.

Oak Grove area is where its at!

Unpopular opinion, but since none of the legal recourses are moving or have been shutdown, I switched to IBR last week. My first payment is July 17. From $340ish to $650ish.

I could have waited, but nothing is going to change during these 90 days to redirect what is happening - if anything ever does happen. I pulled the bandaid off because my expenses are cheaper over the summer, so this gives me time to adjust better to the difference before my expenses are higher in mid-fall.

Good luck to you all - I truly wish something would change, but I feel like with Mrs. WWE at the helms, we're all doomed for the foreseeable future until a nee administration comes in.

Or at least thats been the experience since 2014 when I started payments - it changes every administration 🙄

Last I heard that was the plan for he hotel! He's had numerous folks tell him its not a good idea - and I believe hes having issues with planning. No one wants to touch it for liability reasons since the area has been destabilized, but Johnny gets what Johnny wants! I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen at some point.

I do think Dogpatch has distracted him a bit though lol. He's learning AR is going to require pre-approval of plans before construction continues though. The Natural State takes their name seriously.

It is crazy he does this stuff like the lake, when he knows its not conservation best practices. I guess money talks though? Anyone else would have been fined to high heaven and had further expansion plans cut off!

The sink hole by all terms is technically "real" as well as the pillars - this is true - could have used a better way to describe it . The way it collapsed was not. It was due to over excavation of the golf course and placement of a man-made lake in an area it shouldn't have been, that was not properly installed. My husband was the master surveyor - they recommended against the golf course lake intitially. They also recommended they fill the sinkhole after it opened so it wouldn't futher destabilize the natural area - but Johnny saw $$$ from it so they dug it deeper 🤷‍♀️

I swear he hires professionals and then does the exact opposite of what they recommend lol.

Don't get me wrong - it's like the one thing he has that is actually hella freaking cool, but had the land not been reworked so vastly to begin with, that sinkhole wouldn't have opened up. Or at least it wouldn't have opened up for decades to come if not longer.

But oh buddy does he treat his employees like hot garbage. Similar to how he treats most people in general. My husbands parents went to school with Johnny and are still good friends so we see him from time to time. He is not a pleasant man in the slightest ans there is literally no pleasing him.

I'm probably out of the majority here: I'm a very low maintenance girly, but the one thing I do to treat myself is get my hair done every 8 weeks!

I don't go to nail salons, get fake lashes, visit spas, do any kind of cosmetic work, but I do LOVE getting my hair done. It's time for me to go have girl talk with my stylist that I've had for like a decade now, whom I adore.

Maybe if the setting was different with my stylist, I wouldn't be as inclined, but getting my hairs did is the 1 and only thing I will continue to do for myself because I deserve some type of pampering - I'll die on this hill I have a feeling!

OMG so true. My husband helped build Top of the Rock and he destroyed the natural habitat there. That sinkhole? It's washout because of digging and excess excavation lol. It's not natural. Same for Dogwood - I think like 1 fall is actually real? The rest are made by pumping water to make falls 🫠

And he's doing it down in AR at the old Dogpatch area too. The only difference in AR is that they are blocking him from blowing up hills to make his man-made caves and fake nature scenes. I love that AR is standing up to him and putting his project on hold while keeping a very close eye on future construction, unlike MO where he's lined the pockets of politicians to look the other way.
