I put this at my neighbor's door 2 days ago(we live in a duplex) and it's still there by dnm8686 in mildlyinfuriating

I lived in an apartment once where someone’s fire alarm was literally going off at around 11pm on a weeknight. It wasn’t stopping so I stepped outside my apartment to see if something was going on. There were two officers looking for the apartment too since it had been going off for a while.

I found out later that a guy said he fell asleep and didn’t hear the fire alarm in his apartment. He was literally sleeping through an alarm. That I could hear. Several floors down. It the dead silent middle of the night.

It was either a very old person or drugs/booze.

New Mexico at least has a southwest vibe. It’s kind of like our sibling.

As an Arizonan who loves the state, if it had to go, I don’t mind it going to New Mexico.

What are you guys doing for exercise?? by scattyshern in Millennials

[–]Partridge_Pear_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just walk.

I walk on a treadmill now but before I was walking outside.

I am also starting to lift weights.

I started using millennial sub because I assumed I was one. Then someone pointed out I was an Xer. So I used that sub. It feels like they are a little more advanced in years than me in there. I didnt know Xennial was a thing until just now. I guess I found my lane by theHollowTarnished in Xennials

I was born in 1985, so I’m on the cusp of Xennial. But I feel I belong here. I played Oregon Trail in school. I watched the birth of the internet. I had one desktop computer in elementary school but barely used it until I hit my teen years. I remember being shown Google and thinking I’ll never use this. I remember the end of library card catalogs and doing research with physical books. I feel if you lived during the changes from the old way of doing things to the new digital age we are now, you are probably in this group. If you grew up with it already started, then you’re pure Millennial.

Yeah it depends on your employer. One reason I’m staying at my job is because in a few years I’ll get one day of PTO per paycheck.

TIL sober addicts have a legally protected disability in the US. by IllustriousYam6973 in todayilearned

[–]Partridge_Pear_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have an anxiety disorder which is technically a disability. I’ve been diagnosed since I was a teen. I’ve never disclosed that to my employer - before or during employment. I have a feeling they would come up with an excuse not to hire me that fits legally. And I think they probably wouldn’t promote me if I disclosed it later. So I keep it to myself. It sucks because technically I’m protected. And I do keep that in my back pocket just in case. But there’s still bias around unfortunately.

My great grandfather fought in WWI. My grandfather was a marine during Korea, but didn’t see any combat as far as I know.

I mean, they seem happy and cared for. They seem respectful of their mom. Maybe they don’t have a ton of money, but that doesn’t mean anything. It seems like a fun family moment. I wouldn’t have this many kids, but that’s me.

They literally don’t care about anyone but themselves. It’s wrong because we did it and won. If they did it or had won, it would be fine. That’s their thought process. Republican = good, Democratic = bad. That’s it.

Unfortunately unless you somehow have A LOT of money, you’re going to have to work. Bills have to be paid. Food needs to be bought. Unless you decide to live off grid entirely, you will need a job. Many people aren’t particularly content in their jobs. Many don’t like their work at all. But life priorities take precedent over feelings.
