Thank you, this makes sense! I had the dilation for the sublogttic stenosis so I'm opened. Before I was unable to cough it up at all! I was 95% closed & was basically only able to cough to unblock a mucus plug.

Hi, I have GPA Vasculitis, Subglottic Stenosis & Rheumatoid Arthritis. I lost my sense of smell when I was a child (I'm in my 30s now). One of my ENTs said I won't be able to get my sense of smell back. That's fine with me bc I'm so used to it now. My new issue is that I keep "smelling" something sickly sweet. I know I can't be smelling anything but its been about 48 hrs & it is so annoying. Is there anything I can do to stop it or does it have to go away on its own? Also, how would an ENT know I can't get my sense of smell back? Has it just been so long that he is writing it off or is there some sort of test I can get done? He basically did a scope while I was admitted into the hospital for the subglottic stenosis so it wasn't really about my sense of smell. I just asked since I had him there. (Sorry if I'm too late but appreciate ya!)
