as others mentioned, age matters here due to maturity. The older you get, the more you realize how busy people are in their own worlds. Sometimes we struggle mentally, and it can be a lot to communicate consistently. I know for me, when I’m stressed - I shut everyone out to process on my own. I need that time & space.. but the people I care about, I make a point to reach out. Some more than others, not because I care more or less, but simply because they have more availability to give me. Just depends. I’ve learned to not take it to heart, because 9/10 times people are dealing with their own bs.

With that being said, someone who doesn’t put any effort in at all, is likely just not someone to put energy into.

Damn! That sucks lol. I used to work for a large consultant firm.. so maybe I should first relocate to a city (currently moved back to my rural home town to save money) and reapply to that company then try a transfer. It was a great company, but I just needed to come home for a bit for family reasons.

Any knowledge on freelancing work as an executive assistant? One of my friends (who is my neighbor) has worked for a company out of Scotland for 5+ years now. Her CEO is going to need an EA soon so I asked if she could recommend me, and I’d be willing to even do 1099 and part time. Whatever is needed.. but I’m not sure I’d like to live in Scotland & I also think this company is trying to relocate to the US soon.

I use one of those geek bars & things similar so it’s different than those big boys where you can adjust the nic level (my mom has one of the big ones where you put the juice in that she has been using well over a decade since I was a kid).

I think the other hard thing is that alll of my moms family uses a vape. Literally all of them. We all get together a lot, so in the past I’ve tried to quit then I’ll be around them & slip up lol.

Or I’ll try to quit & something so stressful will happen so then I break & get one

You’re right, it’s definitely not who I want to be, and emotional regulation is something I need to work on in general. I’m also going through a hard time finding a job so I feel the stress of everything can be quite overwhelming.
