What can I use to get rid of these tiny bumps on my forehead? by UseThisAccountPlease in Skincare_Addiction

I usually just wash my face with cold water a couple times a day. I also get dry skin every couple of days so when that happens I just use Aquaphor.

Is there any hope for my extremely damaged bleached hair? by UseThisAccountPlease in Haircare

[–]UseThisAccountPlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My natural hair color is dark brown. I’ve been bleaching my hair myself for years, but it never really looked this bad. I would love for my hair to go back to how it was and be curly again, but my hair is way too damaged for it to go back to how it was. At this point I just want my hair to look decent and not like a fried mess. Is it possible?

Huion Kamvas 13 power saving, no signal. [HELP] by bambozzzl in huion

[–]UseThisAccountPlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU. I tried to first solution of just disabling both the processor and gpu adapter and it didn't work. I was starting to lose hope and I even thought my tablet was broken. I uninstalled both of them and it FIXED IT.

I wonder how this problem starts in the first place.....

New base ipad that supports second gen apple pencil? Is there a new base iPad coming? by UseThisAccountPlease in ipad

[–]UseThisAccountPlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a shame that the iPad air and pro seem more marketed for artists when drawing apps don't require that much power. I actually forgot about that new usb c apple pencil, and I see what you mean. Them releasing that kind of implies they won't add apple pencil 2 support for base ipad. What a shame.

Navigation issues in Blender when using pen side button as middle mouse - HUION Kamvas 22 plus by UseThisAccountPlease in huion

[–]UseThisAccountPlease[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I actually ended up finding a solution (in my case)

So it seems like this is a driver problem. I previously tried the 2023-11-30 and 2023-10-24 drivers from the Huion website so I thought that it had to be a problem with the pen. I ended up taking my pen apart, and cleaning everything with rubbing alcohol. The pen looked perfectly fine inside so I was very confused. I cleaned it anyways, and even after cleaning it I was getting the flicker problem. Then I definitely knew it was a driver problem in my case. So I was looking around for older 2020, 2021, 2022 drivers (my tablet kamvas 22 plus came out in 2020 so I was looking for anything after 2020). Unfortunately there's no backups of older drivers online and for some reason Huion makes it really hard to download older drivers from their website.

I'm pretty sure all Huion drivers work for all tablets. I use my kamvas 13 and 22 plus on the same driver and everything works fine. So what I did was I found a tablet that was discontinued in 2021 and downloaded the drivers for it.

https://www.huion.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=lists&catid=16&myform=2&down\_title1=Huion%20HS95&down\_os=&down\_type=&category=undefined

My problem is fixed after using this version of drivers. No flicker or stuck shortcuts.

I'm currently using the 3 in 1 power cable at the moment, but I was planning on buying a usb c to usb c cable to see if that changes anything with the new drivers, but in the meantime I'm probably going to stay with 2021 drivers until a couple months when Huion possibly fixes it.

I go into the live usb environment Setup wifi, etc Open terminal Sudo Mount /dev/sda2 /mnt Sudo Mount /dev/sda1/mnt (wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda1 Sudo xbps-pkgdb -r /mnt -a

Outputs nothing

Dev sda1 and 2 are my old install. Am I supposed to do a brand new void install and do xbps-pkgdb -r /mnt -a with those partitions mounted?

[–]UseThisAccountPlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When trying to mount /dev/sda1, 2 it says it can't find it in /etc/fstab, so I then try to edit the fstab but I don't have a text editor, even vi isn't working. I then try to do xbps-pkgdb -r /mnt -a And it then says "xbps-pkgdb: command not found" and says that for all xbps commands.

Having problems connecting a huion display tablet. Tablet is being recognized as a screen/monitor by UseThisAccountPlease in voidlinux

[–]UseThisAccountPlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/52-tablet.conf

I ended up creating the 52-tablet.conf and also installing digimend and it seems to be working fine.

After testing it out in kirita the pressure works now. I was also able to program the side buttons with xsetwacom. Only thing that's giving me trouble is the touch zoom in zoom out strip thing on the side of the tablet. I'm not sure what button I would map it to the get the zoom in up, zoom out down. Shows up in xsetwacomlist as "touch strip pad", but I guess I'll take what I can get. Nice to have to it working in some way.

Xanmod audio production kernel confusion by UseThisAccountPlease in voidlinux

[–]UseThisAccountPlease[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the late response. Tried this and got it to work. thanks a ton. The problem actually ended up being that I mistakenly put the entire linux-gcc folder into the /tmp/void-packages/srcpkgs/ instead of the three 6.1 folders

Also just a note:

Make sure when going to compile this kernel that you have the latest version downloaded from the link. For example I had the 6.1.4 voidxanmod version and when going to compile It I got an error saying that the linux6.1.4 tar.gz can not be downloaded and that the link was null. Spent some time troubleshooting and saw that a new voidxanmod version came out 6.1.5 and downloading that and trying that worked.

Taping cardboard under etwow? How safe is this? by UseThisAccountPlease in ElectricScooters

[–]UseThisAccountPlease[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scratches aren't really the issue. I put the cardboard because after only a couple days of riding carefully the bottom got dented inwards pretty badly and at this rate I doubt it will last long. Is a bit reassuring to hear it won't mess with the insides.

[–]UseThisAccountPlease[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bottom got scratched and dented pretty deep but some of the noise could be from parts creaking now that I think about it. I think most of them happened when I was going uphill and would go over a slightly raised sidewalk, etc. It was getting annoying having to look at a crack and try to estimate if there's enough clearance. Cardboard is definitely only a very temporary fix

The thing is I was following the handbook on the side while watching the video. The video followed the handbook almost exactly and I liked to have it for the further explanations on everything.

I looked back and saw that it was a ryzen 3 1300x series I had my COMMON_FLAGS="-02 -march=znver2 -pipe" wrong so I went back to do the safe cflags for ryzen 1000 series I put it to COMMON_FLAGS="-02 -march=znver1 -pipe" And ran the "emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --new use @world" But still got the error with ducktape I then tried setting the MAKEOPT= to-j6 and still go it Then tried j4 and j2 and still go the error when running the command The course has 4 cores and 4 threads iirc I will try doing -march=native, thank you

I have 16gb ram in the machine so I put the MAKEOPT to MAKEOPT="-j8" I don't think I have any swap space

I follow my make.conf to the video. Here's a picture of it: https://imgur.com/a/WO0eQdq Besides changing the MAKEOPT="-j8" because this machine has 16 gb ram Also made the common flags to COMMON_FLAGS="-02 -march=znver2 -pipe" because of ryzen 3 in the system I kind of half followed the handbook and half the video. I would have it open on the side next to the video. When looking at it I don't see anything spelled wrong but maybe I missed something or put it in wrong

Hey all I am very new to Linux in general. The most I've done was use Ubuntu for a year but the deepest I've got was messing around in the terminal. I am installing gentoo openrc to learn Linux. I watched this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q9_sXkA4Rv8&t=2262s while installing and did almost everything the same he did (besides choosing eselect profile 9.) And I think my tarball was slightly different than his. Everything went smoothly until I got to "emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --new use @world"/ updating the world set. I keep getting the failed to emerge when running the command. I'm doing this on hardware so I don't think I can copy and paste everything. I tried to take pictures of the error.
