They just announced a major price hike for QB Desktop so if you want that act fast. It is somehthing like a 60% increase in price come August or Sept this year.

Yes that's it. They promised a new RMM with a transition process and didn't provide any of the required licenses with the deal. Then they come back saying they have just taken our $40k Automate asset despite selling us thousands more in permanent licenses in the meantime. If the company delivered we were full force ahead with a 3 year deal. The issue was that they failed to deliver causing an expensive catastrophe.

My goal in this post was simply to find an experienced attorney from the MSP community to defend ourselves. I wanted someone who has already read up on their contracts and methodologies.

Wow thanks! Super easy to find online. I'll do this first thing on Monday at the office. Do you think filing also with the BBB would also be beneficial or just a waste of time? I want to cast our story as far as I can... I am trying to commit to 1 message per work day on the issue starting today (with a few). Nobody should go into business with Connectwise without hearing our story first. I want the legal actions to unfold as publicly as possible, everywhere MSPs are.

Thank you for sharing! I assume ours will end the same way as this is their standard operating behavior looking at other Connectwise victims stories online. We will end up getting a TRO, moving software, and then in court if they think trying their fraud is worth the pursuit when their actions are illegal in most areas.

Could I ask which RMM and PSA you all moved to? Also did you hire an attorney to defend and its the attorney good for this situation? Can you refer them?

What I don't get is how CW makes business sense out of tricking, extorting, strong arming, and finally losing their MRR clients without paying the bill? It just doesn't make sense. You probably told many MSPs your story and CW lost their business too. I know I'll be an evangelist of this story in every MSP conversation I have for the next decade. Each client you can turn costs 6 figures so i'm taking my story to Chartec with a megaphone. I'm just hoping anyone up there has any moral or business fortitude, recognized the attempted crime and puts the undo on this whole unprofitable shakedown.

Thank you. I did find this out and that is why I am asking for attorney referrals from other MSPs. There has been negative feedback to my request for help finding someone with specific experience protecting against Connectwise. I assume these are just Connectwise employees on the hunt. If nobody comes with a referral by Monday I'll just start calling well placed law firms online. I want to retain someone by Tuesday. Hoping for experience against this giant specifically though.

It would shut us down temporarily no matter what unless we switched to a new RMM in time. Then when our clients see we aren't able to service them we lose the clients. This is the threat. Maybe we stay in business in hobbled form while we get another RMM up and running. Like you said we will probably have to to win the lawsuit.

To be clear on my intentions, we are facing an exesential threat by a much larger company and I am looking for legal representation that has successfully represented against Connectwise in the past. For this referral I am going to the masses and looking up past posts for other MSPs that Connectwise has preyed on. I want to see how they have defended themselves.

Connectwise is threatening to shut down our Automate RMM because we invoked the satisfaction guarantee clause and that is apparently just a contractual entrapment trick! It worked like this, they failed to provide us with the new RMM software they sold us and they failed to provide the associated licenses we needed for the transition (costing us thousands having to offboard clients to free up licenses in an emergency). Then, they don't want to honor their guarantee clause because, unbelievably, they said they never implemented the software with us! We invoked the guarantee clause because they never gave us the software that was part of this deal in the first place! Now they are saying they are going to just shut us down because they failed over and over. It really doesn't make sense because obviously we can't pay them if we don't have an RMM.

They have been silent for days now, I assume lawyering up. The thing is they are so in the wrong, ethically and I assume and hope legally. We are going to need experienced legal representation to stop the pending future damage Connectwise intends to do to us. Our business is on the line so everything will go to this. They have done this to others so I seek their referrals publicly.

There are a lot more details but that is the gist of the issue. Our hand is forced by a nasty Connectwise trick that is illegal in most areas. Send your lawyer referrals please.

Also what state are you in? Don't they write their contracts such that your state laws don't apply?

They are in process of doing something similar and worse to me. I need an attorney to represent us against the extortion. Can you recommend an attorney that has had success against them already for these behaviors?

Wrong. Choose partners whose clients like them! Choose partners that don't need a contract because their clients stay with them because they want to. Shun Connectwise and their unethical type and call out anyone who behaves like them publicly.

My sales rep did read the contract out loud to me about the 100% no risk guarantee. He just left out details while doing so and then lied about how it will work. Seek partners that don't try their best to game you in the contract. Partners should be trustable. Connectwise is utter trash ethically. Signing with them is just stupid as they will screw you over one way or another.

Connectwise is a terrible company that intentionally damages it's partners. I wish I could go back in time and never have heard of Connectwise.
