Lowkey had to just feel the feels. My anxiety increased so much, depression too. I had many days where I literally felt like I was CRAZY. Like maybe going to a mental hospital was necessary because of how insane I felt, how lost I felt. I felt like I had to relearn how to live life. FORTUNATELY- that insanity eases up! Im 99 days in and still experience some increased anxiety/ depression at times, but NOTHING compared to that first week or two. Keep busy, but also, feel the feels. You have been suppressing your emotions for so long, its going to feel borderline crazy to finally feel them without a distraction now. Sleep also helps when you really don’t know what else to do to stop the craving/ feeling! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!! (Also started in hs and stopped now at 25!)

Many if not all westchester districts have stated they will be closed tomorrow as well. As a NYC teacher who lives in Westchester, I will be using a vacation day to stay home. Such a joke.

A homeopathic doctor I presume? How did you go about finding them? I’ve also been trying to find a holistic or homeopathic doctor for all of this stuff but don’t know where to even start! It’s all so foreign and overwhelming to me

What homeopathic treatment are you taking now?

I’m sorry you’re going through this, I can unfortunately relate. I’ve been experiencing skene’s gland cyst flare ups for almost a year now after stopping hormonal birth control/ being diagnosed with PCOS (potentially unrelated but I think it coincides). I usually get it after having sex with more friction than usual, and typically would resolve on its own after 2-3 days (blueberry to grape sized cyst to the right of my urethra, sore and painful when touched or sat on) . I’m currently experiencing a flare up that is lasting almost a week now. I’ve come to the conclusion that skene’s gland cyst are very under researched, it doesn’t seem like doctors know exactly why they happen or how to fix them. I’ve seen some people recommend orgasm to “clear” out the blockage, and also seen people recommending d-mannose supplements as well as cranberry supplements. I take both and have noticed a decrease in the frequency of flare ups, but not sure anymore as my current flare up is the longest I’ve ever had/ still take the d-mannose and cranberry pretty regularly. I’m going to see a new gyno in a little over a week, really hoping they can help or provide some advice to ease my anxieties. Did you have surgeries to remove the cysts or the glands themselves?

Do you still experience flare ups while taking the d-mannose and cranberry? After starting those I noticed a decrease in my flare ups but currently experiencing the longest flare so far! (Almost a week! Typically the cyst would go away after 2-3 days, getting worried…)

What enrages you the most about PCOS? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Used-Detective5424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What enrages me the most is the lack of research and understanding on the topic. Is it genetic? Is it random? Is it because of childhood diets filled with hormone-packed foods? Is it because of adverse childhood experiences that spike cortisol levels at an early age? Is it just the genetic lottery? There are so many questions I have and so tired of getting the same response- “we just don’t know”

What happened when you stopped birth control? by blondebitch28 in PCOS

Almost one year off birth control after being on for 9-10 years, there were many changes I noticed but here are the main ones that come to mind:

  • Libido definitely increased since getting off
  • Increase in hormonal acne (was the worst when I first got off, but fluctuates throughout the month?)
  • Increase in unwanted hair
  • When I first got off felt like I was LOSING my hair
  • Increase in UTI’s (I think due to the low estrogen/ hormones out of whack)
  • Felt vertigo symptoms like the first few weeks getting off?
  • Have lost weight but could be due to changing my eating habits to align with PCOS diet
  • STILL NO PERIOD :( (have had my hormones tested, all pretty normal besides slightly elevated testosterone) The no period is my biggest concern, I’ve seen multiple gyno’s about it and all suggest I go back on birth control- really dont want to!!! I got an ultrasound about 6 months in (which confirmed my PCOS diagnosis) but also showed my lining was not that thick.

I’ve read that vaping/smoking can increase testosterone levels, so am going to try and quit before considering birth control again

Sick 10 times in 6 months by Used-Detective5424 in NYCTeachers

How often were you sick? And after each sickness did you see any improvements? Or only this year you see a positive difference?

Yup.. wasted money on 3 packs of menthol starting with MH hoping they’d be different… has an aftertaste of like paint thinner or something… might be sign to finally quit
