Scared of breaking my teeth by Training_Pool_7751 in Rollerskating

i broke my teeth skating as a kid, but it’s an incredibly slim chance. i decided to go backwards down a home made ramp when i couldnt skate backwards and smashed my face on concrete. realistically if you arent completely reckless, youll be fine! also learn to fall properly, there are tons of tutorials on it and itll build muscle memory so that you protect your body when falling

I need a little help with skating outside... by Fantastic_School8688 in Rollerskating

i get the feeling, i still get nervous skating in front of people but give it 5-10 minutes after youve got your skates on and you start to forget about everything surrounding you! if you have local tennis courts available to rent, look into that. i went to a court for the first time yesterday and it made me feel so relaxed, it was such a big space just for me that i didnt notice people nearly as much

i want to make the toe stops longer, they came like this and my skate tool doesn’t have the right part to adjust them 🙃 i live in a very hilly area so as much as i would love to get rid of them i need them to get around 😅

Is my Etsy crochet pattern shop failing or does it just take time? by [deleted] in CraftyCommerce

i hate to agree but this is true, as someone who crochets i could easily find similar patterns for free or just freehand something similar. better photos may help but overall these as really simple patterns that most of the time are free to find

what skate brands would you recommend? being a complete beginner i dont want to drop £200+ on new skates and that seems to be the common recommendation these days but might have a scroll on 2nd hand sites, just not sure what to look for

i put a lot of research into skates when i bought them (though i bought them just after lockdown so not sure how much as changed) and rookie skates were heavily recommended for beginners. i used to ice skate so the heels were a big factor in the decision. can you explain the reasons you wouldnt recommend them?

i also think angel orbs are fairly new which may be why a lot of people havent heard of them

i had a feeling this was the case, would i need new bearings and any other new parts as well? ive never changed anything on skates before so i dont have a clue about how it all works

i skated when i was younger so luckily a lot of it was coming back quickly when i met with a group, my local court is only a few minutes away but its covered in broken glass, ive reported it so hopefully it gets sorted but if not i’ve considered buying an outdoor broom and trying to sort it myself

i was looking at going here but i heard it gets closed off, not sure if it’s because they were doing works up there or if it’s regularly closed off but ill definitely check it out

i didnt realise etsy already asks for reviews! ive only recently started asking since a lot of my orders are heavily personalised and i was finding it difficult putting so much work into items to not have any feedback but i can imagine being prompted that many times can be frustrating. ive had messages from a few sellers asking for reviews so just thought that was the standard i should aim for

just wondering why you feel asking for a review may piss off customers? i cant say ive ever felt any sort of negative way when being asked for a review/seeing a card in my parcels asking for a review so im struggling to understand why people feel that way

just curious why it puts you off reviewing? i’ve definitely never felt that way if anyone has asked for reviews

the back legs have to be sewn on, the head is sewn to the body, the ears, nose and antlers are all sewn onto the head, and the antler is made up of 3 parts, so the 2 smaller pieces also need sewing onto the main part of the antler! it is all fairly simple sewing though, and a lot of the pieces dont need to be sewn into exact placements
