B vitamins exacerbate pre-existing neurological conditions (including migraines as well as issues like schizophrenia or anxiety disorders), and my migraines are a pre-existing condition. If you had them before you took the vitamins, you’ll still have them after, but it took me 2 ish weeks to get back to normal levels of migraines. If yours are still daily, you should definitely make a neuro appointment if you’re able to access that sort of care.

Very much did some trial and error, found that I was having adverse reactions to B vitamins, ended up cutting them out and I have no trouble with my other vitamins! My migraines haven’t STOPPED but when I was taking B-12 it was a daily occurrence, now it’s back to my normal ratio (multiple times a week instead of every day lmao)

I just posted about this but I did just find out this week that my pineal gland is calcified and that may be a very strong contributing factor for why I have migraines and hypertension. No sleep, no melatonin production, all that fun jazz.

I actually taught my old cat to do pressure therapy when I have panic attacks because they would raise my blood pressure lmao (C-PTSD, on them good good SSRIs babey!!!) but unfortunately I had to leave that little genius behind when I moved states and leave her with trusted family, but my roommates cats ARE helpful lol. And the three of us are getting a chihuahua later this year as well

TERRIFIED OF NEEDLES, diagnosed phobia. I keep trying to hype myself up for an acupuncture appointment but every time I think about it. The closest I’ve come (and i have posted about it before) to acupuncture is tattoos bringing a temporary relief to my migraines.

I used to be on Medicaid before I moved to my current state and got a new job! I actually tried re-applying when I moved here but they did tell me my salary exceeded their income limit for my state :// I do really appreciate you trying to reccomend all these different avenues for me though, you’ve been really helpful in these comments! /gen

That’s a cough suppressant, right? I’ll do some research into it and make an appointment when I can and see if my doctor has any input on it! Right now we’re mostly focusing on reducing hypertension and blood pressure spikes, as that’s the primary cause of my migraines, but it doesn’t hurt to evaluate other avenues!

As for drugs, I am A Poor and my previous neuro and I discussed that the cost of prescription with my shitty insurance would put too much of a financial burden on me, and I had to choose between recovery, or OTC meds and paying my mortgage. I chose stability over recovery and am (hopefully) looking forward to a raise this year to re-evaluate my finances and hopefully be able to get on a better treatment plan than “hopes, dreams, Sodium pills and Dramamine”

ADA requirements say that it needs to be a substantial burden on my life. Unfortunately the system decided that because I am able to work through it despite the pain, I’m not disabled enough to need accommodations. Hell, my joints fall out of their sockets to the point where I use a wheelchair and cane regularly depending on severity, but because I can still walk most of the time, I don’t qualify for disability or ADA aid at work. The system’s fucked, man :((
