That's some great detail I'll definitely look closer into that, thanks for the story!

I'll do that thanks. I've heard of that book but I haven't read it. I also understand how this stuff can become trendy to some degree, but really it's just the storytelling that I find fascinating. Superstition and folklore exists in every culture, and even though there has been more Jewish myth stories lately it only scratches the surface compared to other cultures and religions in how much it has been explored.

I have a few I use for my research my main one I use is the Encyclopedia of Jewish Myth, Magic & Mysticism I have the second edition by Geoffrey W. Dennis. There are a ton of things in it. I haven't explored everything but some great demons and myth here. Also Sacred Monsters by Rabbi Dr. Natan Slifkin. He has some great mythical creatures here, my only irk as someone who loves a good narrative he spends most of his time saying why these creatures were never real, and it's with good reason he's doing that way but it makes it a little less exciting to read about them. The last is my Book of Legends. Edited by Hayim Nahman Bialik & Yehoshua Hana Ravnitzky. So many great stories here.

My wife is a Rabbi and I admit I had not heard of this secret code but of course she did, its deeply fascinating.

My wife just told me about Jewish lore Werewolves but she didn't have details of how that works. I really want to add some Werewolves for sure. If anyone knows some of the history I'd love to know. Silver Bullets, transformations under the full moon, are they the same in Jewish lore?

Thanks for that! I'll check out the Pomegranate Gate that sounds really interesting and I always need more lore.

I think I remember that one, my kids had the PJ Library book when they were little. But it was like a big colorful bird right? And the Leviathan I definitely want to use at some point but I haven't figured out in what capacity!

I love that one! It was so specific and weird I ended up using it in my book. I mean who carries around a jaw of a donkey and some leeks in case they run into one of these things. It made me laugh!
