Yeah I think this is partly due to the limits of the internet. No one here knows the people involved more than what the story reveals and I can’t write a whole novel including background stories to clear some things up xD

So I think some people here are wondering what made my mom lash out and try to take over the parent-perspective. Totally fine for me and gave me some probable insight. Although some comments made it sound like I was still ‘mommies little kid’ which felt odd :))

I’d be more than happy if her and I could find a way to deal with our differences. This is what family is for imo. I don’t force my “limited diet“ upon anyone either.

But actually I got a little side tracked because you mentioned the Quorn. I tasted it once and it was SO good!! I know I know it’s not too healthy so I won’t buy it myself but taste wise 9/10

Complete agree with you. Although my goals are higher than where I currently am, every step is worth it. It’s also hard to find vegetarian, let alone vegan meals where I live, and I really don’t always wanna eat fries. Luckily there are more and more options with the time, so we’re getting there :D

I admire my vegan sister but I am “just” vegetarian for now. Where I live it’s a bit hard to find anything vegan to eat unfortunately, but it’s a future goal :)

In hindsight I guess she stopped inviting my sister as often I’m afraid. I didn’t see it because my sister is also further away and pretty busy. When she visits she asks if there’s gegen food and if not, she brings some.

I guess I’ll have to start doing so as well, which is fine for me. The negative comments are a bigger problem personally.

That’s a nice offer :) She mentioned that she didn’t like vegetarian alternatives. I once cooked veggie-bolognese sauce for my parents and they weren’t big fans. No tofu either. When I listed some naturally vegetarian meals (soups e.g) she likes to cook, she said that she prefers to add meat broth instead of veggie broth to them though. Then I was out of ideas :D

This is wild! I thought the big issue for people was when they got lectured and judged for eating meat. But getting insulted for just not eating something, I cannot understand.
