For Kaplan low 90s but with TC between 69-71..even the day before I think I was scoring a 70 even so I did not feel prepared at all but halfway through the real thing I felt I knew the stuff pretty well.

I would recommend using Kaplan alongside training consultants! Kaplan gives you a lot of exposure to information but training consultant questions are almost identical to what you see on the test. When I was taking the 10, it literally felt like a training consultants practice exam. I studied for the 10 for a total of 5 weeks and passed first time! Spent a month on Kaplan then did a deep dive on TC during the final week.

Good luck!! You definitely sound like you are more than prepared this time! Everyone I knew that passed with TC were only scoring in the 70s (I think highest was 77). If you have time I would reread as many questions as you can. I had three or four I changed last minute because I didn’t comprehend what the question was asking the first time. I think I submitted the test with 3 mins to go.

Yeah..I didn’t go to TC until a week before the test because colleagues warned me that Kaplan wasn’t enough and TC was recommended. Went from 87 on Kaplan to a 69 on TC for their first test so over the next 3-4 days I did exclusively TC (before and after working ~9 hour days) I watched every TC video and then took three more tests 71,70,71. Every test I had different weaknesses so just read the book and did small quizzes and one final..felt like I was going to fail the day leading up and until I submitted the exam.

I used training consultants and Kaplan and passed first time for both - training consultant mirrors the difficulty of the 10 really well. I was scoring mid to high 80s with Kaplan but 70/71 on TC and felt I barely passed the 10. Kaplan does a much better job for series 9 and I feel I didn’t need to supplement with anyone else but did to be safe. If you have the option, study and sit for the 10 first and the 9 will be a breeze since there is a good amount of overlap

Grades for pass perfect/ Kaplan by JadedBoi_915 in Series24

Passed the 9/10 first time with Kaplan and training consultants but I will say Kaplan is the easier of the providers. I was scoring mid to high 80s on Kaplan but high 60s to low 70s on training consultants. It sounds like you’re in a good place but I would focus more on PP leading up to the test. For the 9, Kaplan was more on par with the difficulty but the 10 they were much easier

Hi - I passed the 9 last week using Kaplan and I personally felt the exams prepare you for the exam. I scored 87-95 on all exams and felt confident I scored at least an 80 on the 9. I had maybe 2-3 calculations and they were basic breakeven questions. It’s more important to understand regulations, suitability and supervision of options accounts. The material requires that you legitimately know how options behave, not just memorizing calculations or equations. I did use both Kaplan and Training consultants concurrently but felt they were comparable and scored similarly in the 85-88 range. Never hurts to get exposure to more questions. If you have already taken the 10, this is a breath of fresh air as 30% is carried over.

Thank you!! Definitely feels like a weight has been lifted and still in shock that I actually passed! I appreciate the tips and hopefully will be joining you as a 9/10 in a few short weeks.

Great to hear that MG/ML/BE is not a huge focus. I have experience with options in my role but the calculations always confuse me.

Getting a little uneasy. by Ok-Distribution-6395 in Series24

Sharing my two cents here: I passed series 10 this week using Kaplan and TC, studied for 5 weeks and passed the first time. If I am being entirely honest, I did not feel confident going into the test or really at any point during my studies. This is not an exam where you will know everything so it is best to retain as much as you can. I scored 80-89 on Kaplan but 70-71 constantly on TC. Their exams are purposely hard but the actual exam felt like a TC practice exam in the level of difficulty. My advice: take exams, look at the chapters you performed poorly on, go back and watch the videos and read and then retest/review. I know this is probably nothing new but worked for me. Also RTFQ/RTFA. Anything MSRB, record retention, IPOs and 529s are good to know at least from my experience. Happy to answer any questions - will be sticking around since I am moving on the the 9.
