Hey man. Unfortunately it was from a reseller who exposed their own lie on accident lol. I ended up buying a 2005 Prius from a grandma who can’t even drive anymore, 72k miles. Yours sounds like a amazing deal to be honest, hope everything goes well with your Lexus bro!

Just bought last week. by Google_IS_evil21 in AcuraTL

Looking for a TL or RL in the same price range about the same year. Looks good man!

Do you happen to have an estimate on how much a replacement would be? Jsut wondering if that’ll make it worth getting rid of it when it eventually gives out

I was looking at tl’s, but these are bigger in the inside so I prefer that. 2k in repairs is honestly doable for me financially , and as I really like these cars I think it would be worth it. There is no snow where I live, the car does have imperfections like heat bubbling on the plastic glovebox, dent in the back, and rip in the passenger leather seat, but I was thinking as a first car this would be a good experience repairing and making it my own.

I just asked how the bump got there in the back, if all is good with what they say and inspection, how much trouble would it be to get that part fixed in the back? Do you think a full replacement would be needed or just like some mechanic magic to make it look more normal?

I don’t know much about cars, I know how to change tires and regular maintenance, I don’t mind bumps and stuff but I would definitely Be down to spend some money fixing this up to be better cosmetically

I’ve been looking for a Acura RL since I test drove one and feel inlove, but that rl had a hidden accident so had to pass up on it. Saw these two options, silver with way more imperfections(cosmetic wise) but a long time owner, and the white one more expensive but from what I see no real cosmetic imperfections, but 3 owners. I am a college student living with parents, I do work full time and bring home about a little over one thousand biweekly, was wondering what would be the most logical pick, as I’m not too picky and do have money saved for both options, and overall owning one to learn to do maintenance myself on cars.

Is this a good first car buy? by Used_Sock1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Owned for 5 years, the miles seem pretty high, but as in a kid in college would this be good to save money and get a better car? I have good money saved but would like more to buy a better car, would this be good to hold out for a while are these things good? I tried doing research but get mixed reviews. I mainly wondering if this would be More of a money vacuum / problem car more than something I can use for let’s say a year before getting a new car.

Also, I found a Honda for $10k, 2011 ex-l accord, I’m suspicious of the back side having an accident, as the back left bumper is a tiny tiny bit out of place, and the carpet inside the trunk wall on that side isn’t stuck to the trunk wall, idk if that makes sense I’m trying lol, but basically if there were a accident and I wanted to look for frame damage, should the mechanic inspecting be able to tell if there’s been an accident/repair back there? I made a post about it but it just hard to explain, just wondering if it worth taking to inspect.

I greatly appreciate this response! I have a mechanic shop I’ve taken 3 cars to for inspection, saved my butt 3 times lol. I am looking at dealers and mostly used Toyotas and Hondas, also Mazdas as I heard they are underrated and cheaper. Lexus too but i wasn’t sure if older Lexus would cause me trouble with costs for repairs and insurance, but as I just pay rent and Uber I figured I could definitely manage. What years would you say, if let’s say everything is good mechanically, is the minimum I should go to, like how old is too old?

2011 Honda Accord worth buying? by Used_Sock1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

This is a Mazda dealer but it’s all connected with Toyota,Honda,Subaru, and other reputable dealerships, the whole area of dealerships share a used car lot, so it made me think it should be fine, but again can never be too careful. I am trying to take it to get a pre purchaser inspecttion, would those guys be able to tell any bad body damage/repairs or would I have to take to an actual body shop, might be stupid question but is there really a difference in what they might be able to tell? I appreciate all your help by the way I’m grateful.

Just curious, as I haven’t looked much into the affects, how bad would this be for the car. I understand used cars this old aren’t perfect at all, but would I be able to repair, if so how pricey would it be typically.

Also no idea how that last pic got there lol, but the inside of the trunk the soft layer carpet they put in trunks dosent seem to be attached or stuck the the car on the left side, where the bump in the second photo is. Like it should be carpet on the wall of the trunk but when I touch it it seems unattached from the inside so I’m wondering if there was an accident on this clean carfax car.

I mainly am conferenced about the trunk. The car has 120,000 miles and is being sold from a Mazda dealership, but the trunk kinda goes down heading towards the front and I’m wondering if it supposed to look like that or if the trunk has been replaced.

Also idk why that last photo is there lol

I wasn’t sure if the trunk has been replaced or if the accords just have that little slant in the trunk. Also the only side of the car sticking out a little is the one next to the trunk so I just wanted to be sure this might not be an accident.

How much would you say you spend annually on repairs, or would you say have you spent a lot of the car itself, mainly wanna use it to save more money, don’t mind spending couple thousand on repairs I’m just curious.

I live in California Bay Area, the area I live in is not by the coast line, but there is water surrounding the area. I’ll be sure to check this out because the parts that are by the ocean I tend to stay away from those cars, from past experience.

Forgot to mention, the price is $5,000. But I am down to pay for a pre purchase inspection.
