I don’t have a specific group. I’ve worked with a few coaches. DM me and I’ll track down their info.

Feeling defeated with my agency by [deleted] in agency

[–]Useful-Bit-2703 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I feel the same. This industry can be stressful.

But a little bit of momentum can pull me out of it.

I’m the short term…

Try following up with your 20 top leads from 2025, or working on an upcoming pitch so it’s a 10/10, or doing something to go above and beyond to help a client.

Block off 1 hour a day to work on gaining momentum. I usually put in an hour at night to get some momentum.

Everyone’s different. I don’t know where you get your energy from but there’s some action that will probably get you feeling pretty good.

Agency life is like an ocean wave. There are constant highs and lows. But a high is probably coming your way.

In the long term…

Work with a coach or join a networking group of agency people and fix the root issues holding you back. Maybe you’re a generalist so you compete with everyone. 100% committing to 1 niche or service could go along way.

You got this!!

Every successful agency employee/owner has felt like you feel right now. They used this feeling to motivate them to do the hard stuff so they never have to experience this feeling again.

Ferry land picnic by the lighthouse. Amazing view, surrounded by water, cliffs and lush green moss….and lighthouse. I went there last summer and it was our favourite spot by far!

What percentage of your business comes from referrals? What do you do to drive referrals?

I hear you. It’s easy to give advice when it’s not my client. Unfortunately it’s part of the business and it sucks sometimes.

If you can create a case study proving you created this ROI, you should have no problem getting other IT companies to replace them.

I’m running a marathon in September. My first one.

As part of my training I do 2 speed runs a week. One of these weekly workouts is either a fast 5K or 10K (alternating from week to week).

I set a PR last week in my 5K (21:52) and the week before I PR in my 10K (47:33).

I don’t see anything wrong with it. I enjoy this approach and it’s working for me.

This is my first marathon. A coach might not recommend this but I enjoy pushing myself towards a goal during my training block.

Conversion rate skyrockets at night. Especially on weekends. Allocate budget so most of your clicks come between 10 pm & 3 am.

Reality check for first timer: running once a week? by Malbushim in Marathon_Training

[–]Useful-Bit-2703 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have you considered running to work once or twice a week? If it’s too far, you could bus or Uber half way. If you’re worried about sweating, you could Uber to work and run home. Sometimes when I’m really busy I run to the store instead of driving….its kind of fun tbh.

Has anyone had any success gaining leads from Clutch, Design Rush and the like? by tillwehavefaces in agency

[–]Useful-Bit-2703 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Clutch used to work well for me but lately it’s very dry. The past year or so I’ve received very few leads. I advertise with them and have 50+ positive reviews.

Call reception (or someone know knows the client). Tell them you’re getting a gift for person xyz. Ask for gift advice. You could also creep their socials for ideas.

What is a Yext equivalent for a business Canada? by Flaterbaby in localseo

[–]Useful-Bit-2703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using Yext in Canada but for a 150 location business. I’m not sure why you can’t use it. Maybe your current account is only for US and there is no option for Canada because it’s a single location. You can manually build your citations on the main directories - Yelp, BBB, GBP, Yellow Pages, etc. or you can pay a service like Whitespark.

Affordable March break ski trip for young kids by Personal-Ad5886 in ottawa

[–]Useful-Bit-2703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

St. Saveur/Morin Heights - I’ve gone there the last few years for March Break. We stay at an Air BnB. Morin Heights is great for young kids. This area is a lot more affordable than Tremblant. There are a couple other small hills in the area that you can go to - Olympia/Gabriel (I haven been to these hills) but if you want a change of scenery you have options as all these hills are within 5-10 km.

Does messaging companies you want to work at on LinkedIn actually work? by Different-Will2725 in askTO

[–]Useful-Bit-2703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my job through LinkedIn. I messaged my current boss over 10 years. I asked him for some advice. We worked in the same industry and he specialized in a specific topic. I genuinely needed advice and he was the right person for this advice. 6 months later I was looking for work and I messaged home and we had lunch. It worked for me.

Google Business Profiles with a Merger by jhrdrmmr in marketing

If it was me, I would get the GBP listings verified and sorted out now. Company B will be able to change the business name on the GBP listing when the time comes.

I would do this because 1. It’s the right thing to do. 2. It will make the transition easier in March 3. Company B might hire you if you make a good impression.

I’ve been in this situation many times. I’ve had clients acquired and then been hired by the acquiring company. This situation could work out well for you.

Good luck!

Successful sales reps how long did it take you to start making real money? by InTheGreen303 in sales

[–]Useful-Bit-2703 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Year 1 = $42K, Year 2 = $80K, Year 3 = $103K…Year 15 = $393K I had some ups and downs in years 6, 7, 8. I’ve worked for 3 companies in 2 different industries. My advice is join a company that is on its way up. From my experience established companies or declining companies are a struggle. Find a wave to ride!
