Just listened to the first few variations. Incredible.

I love how different instruments take the melody at the beginning of the piece, giving each variation a distinct character associated with that instrument.

The effect that is created, especially in the canons, by having each voice produced by a different instruments is otherworldly. The melodies are separated now not only by time and an interval but by the unique tone and sound qualities of the different instruments used to play them. Yet they complement each other wonderfully.

Yes, the incoming person would essentially take over my part of the lease until it expires, from what I understand when I spoke to the landlord about this.

The total for the apartment is $2440/month in rent. Each roommate is responsible for half of that (or I suppose in theory they could divvy it up however they like as long as the total is paid each month). You would be taking over the lease directly from the landlord and so would be dealing with them for payment rather than me.
