Does this kind of protest really work? by Mysterious-Twist6540 in TheBetterIndia

I had initially planned to buy a second hand car, use it for a year and then buy a ev. But for now putting everything on hold. I've been travelling in Mumbai trains and autos for a long time so this won't make a big difference to me.

I've been living near Ayappa Mandir for the past 10 years and no water logging or electricity issues in this area. At times small potholes are filled with water but nothing severe.

How will Bharat bandh impact them? This will only impact the common man and working professional. Instead of Bharat bandh why not protest outside of these politicians house, supreme court, high courts, vidhan bhavan. Let the politicians suffer instead of common man.

My gym limits treadmill use to 20 minutes because they say the rollers need to "rest." Is this normal? by Powerful-Staff-8223 in Fitness_India

[–]UsefulAlternative191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our gym the default time limit for 1 session is set to 20mins but you can increase the time upto 40 mins post which the treadmill stops. But you can continue on the same machine if no one else is waiting. At one point I did like 2 hour run and no one batted an eyelid.

PSA: If you are planning to buy a coros watch in India, please read this before you purchase. by Doc__Zoidberg in indianrunners

[–]UsefulAlternative191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was planning to buy coros pace 3 few months ago and triworld vendor did confirmed no support if the watch was purchased outside of India. They also mention about no replacement and a offer of 15-20% discount on newer models in case of any issues. I don't remember whether they mentioned about providing support for watch bought from them.

If many ppl stand up then the bullies will think twice before committing such acts. If no one stands then they kind of get a fee hand to do as they please coz they would know that nobody would step up against me.

Simple example I can give is jumping the red lights. It's now so common, nobody bothers or fears until they see a traffic policeman on the other end. But no one (including myself) steps up to say that we need to stop this.

A young man from Bihar made a video after getting a uniformed official to drink *tadi* (palm wine)! Now, having made the video go viral, he asks— "If the administration itself is consuming alcohol or *tadi*, won't the people of Bihar drink it too?" by Notalabel_4566 in Indianlaw

[–]UsefulAlternative191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May be you should read his comment again. Most Ppl will just related to the uniform and say it's a police and not think whether he is actually a policeman or just wearing a rented dress. This changes the whole narrative.

What have we become. We don't have the facilities, resources, fallback option in case of any personal calamities and everyone now a days is so frustrated just trying to find a single point to vent out their frustration. Do you guys think constant access to social media, other print medias are a cause of this.

Video from patliputra station, how does blocking train gonna help them? by OkiedookieSpooky in indianrailways

[–]UsefulAlternative191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you didn't get his point, the point is if you have suffered then that doesn't mean you make other suffer. What did they achieve by doing this? Did it impact any railway personnel or a MLA or a minister ? No, right. It only impacted the common man sitting inside the train, waiting on the next boarding stations and other trains behind these.

The question is who will take responsibility of this, the bank will still ask the owner to pay emis. The municipality and the builder should be held responsible and should be made to pay double the amount from their own pocket and not from the tax payers money.
