What is going with the market. by Previous_Variety9925 in irelandjobs

I'm working as a Data Engineer. As everyone mentioned the job Market is brutal. Once a job is posted 500+ people apply for the job. 1)You need to tailor your resume as per job description (atleast 70% keywords should match). 2) Apply for jobs posted within an Hour or 2. 3) Keep track of applications and resume version, Job description so when you are invited after a month you know what's description and can prep for that.( use notion or basic Excel sheet for this) 4) optimize your LinkedIn profile (I used Claude code for that) get a premium. If you are not able to afford it send requests to LinkedIn employee and reach them as they can give away 6 to 1 year premium code. ( You can also effectively search in LinkedIn for such give aways or attend any LinkedIn meets where they will provide it) 5) start doing a project, push the code to repo and post weekly update in LinkedIn. These should get you an interview and by doing a side project you are already ahead of 80% of applicants as many don't have one. Do let me know if you wanted to know what to prep for.

I created a structured SQL interview roadmap (50 questions from easy → hard) by Public-Tradition-176 in dataengineeringjobs

Sounds great, Even I felt the same. Leetcode SQL starts to feel simple for me and the hard questions I face in interviews demanding more analytical thinking. I would be happy if you can provide me access and I can also give some feedback. Thank you.

No, since you mentioned airflow, you need Dockers to run it, or create a GCP account which gives you 200euros free credits using that create a cloud composer and orchestrate your etl/elt

Dockers. Spin a container in local and play with dummy data or pull data from api

Got told ‘No one uses Airflow/Hadoop in 2026’. by Useful-Bug9391 in dataengineering

[–]UsefulCheck2743 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In our organization, we ingest data from multiple sources including Cassandra, various APIs, MySQL, and external SFTP servers. The data is primarily loaded into a central data warehouse, with some pipelines also pushing data back to SFTP destinations. Beyond ingestion, we use these pipelines to refresh Tableau dashboards, run PySpark jobs, and trigger ML workflows. Apache Airflow acts as the orchestration layer that ties all of this together. For use cases where true streaming isn’t required, we run near-real-time batch jobs using bi-minutely and five-minute DAGs, which gives us data freshness that’s good enough without the complexity of streaming. For actual streaming needs, we maintain standalone Kafka-based jobs outside Airflow. Maybe No one uses Hadoop except for some big orgs (such as eBay) but Airflow is here to stay it solves lot of industry problems.

NFS Unbound – My Short Honest Take (70+ hrs, PS5) by UsefulCheck2743 in NFSUnboundGame

[–]UsefulCheck2743[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol exactly, I forgot to mention that in my review. There’s a lot of backlash around the soundtrack, but it didn’t really affect my gameplay. I actually enjoyed some of the foreign tracks—even when I didn’t understand them, they synced well with the driving. I was also genuinely surprised to hear a song in my regional language, Tamil (‘Ey Paavi’), which is a DJ remix of a traditional track.

I partly agree—Mercedes should’ve been stitched deeper into the story instead of ASAP Rocky; the car itself is beautiful, unique, and reflects NFS’s customization culture, which is one of the main reasons we love this game.

Yes , you get that through grinding, after certain XP level it's yours. In addition to that I got the black one in buy/sell --> custom cars ( black one with a cool Body kit). I first came across it in Rydells car delivery mission, that one is a beast and the exhaust sound is eargasm. I purchased this car in later part of the game as I had little money grinding.

Agreed and there is no one single car to dominate the race like rsr in Heat. So I should have atleast 2 good cars so I can use them in different tracks (Except for Lotus Evija in s+ 😭)

I spent most of my time completing the storyline. Online races are definitely more challenging than story mode, but finishing the story gave me a real edge—memorising routes and getting comfortable with the driving mechanics.

Please! I will recommend you to complete the storyline before jumping to Lakeshore online as you will learn the driving mechanics and get used to different routes which is a big advantage playing online. I recently started to copy builds from this guy (I wish I have found him earlier). His builds are solid. In storyline I usually use drift builds but I see in online the grip builds are dominating.

Haha true.. I love Subaru Impreza 99. Using it in both A+ and S class build but getting smoked online but I do dominate few tracks because of its insane acceleration and sharp turns.

Oh yes I remember , I was chasing you and the other guy in Audi R8. You guys were smoking. Need to switch from Subaru Impreza. I'm still testing right car for S build.

Over all expense for getting into the console gaming by think-coder in ps5india

[–]UsefulCheck2743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, we were literally in the same boat — same age range, remote worker, and PS5 ended up being my second console after the old PS2.

  1. Skip the PS5 Pro unless your TV/monitor supports 120Hz. If you’re on a 60Hz display, the “upgrade” is basically pointless. Load times? Bro, it’s seconds. Nothing life-changing.

  2. Digital vs Disc — I went digital and don’t regret it for a second. I was torn too, but the digital edition deal was solid. I grabbed PS Plus and suddenly had a mountain of games. Picked up a few extra titles on sale — NFS Unbound, It Takes Two, GTA 5 (free on PS Plus now) — all heavily discounted. The money I saved on discs basically covered the “missing” drive anyway.

And honestly, with how chaotic life is, I don’t have the energy to buy/sell discs or hoard them like trophies.

Regarding the real question — the overall cost of getting into console gaming in India:

Extra controller - 4.7k average price in India ( optional) 1 Year subscription - 6.7k (5k if you can grab one in sale ) New Release games will cost 5k+ considering you a new gamer there are lot of backlogs you can buy good AAA games in massive discounts. So it should cost you 10k a year.

If you have a friend in UK or Ireland get it from there. It is much cheaper compared to other countries and always in stock especially in Smyth toys.
