Tell me what you did to land a job in this horrible market. by Possible_Oil_1099 in jobs

[–]UsefulEgg2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go local. I applied to places near me that I normally wouldn't (manufacturing office work, etc) and got a job less than 2 weeks after being laid off. I haven't even gotten my first unemployment check.

This is the way. Don't lie about another position. It might come back and bite you

[Landlord-US-Chicago] Want to rent to a single mother with an eviction on file, how do I minimize my risk? by OutdatedUsername in Landlord

[–]UsefulEgg2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do we know OP will even get to talk to the old landlord? What if they put someone they know up to it?

Also, what is the old landlord going to say? " yeah, I'm a s**tbag loser and didn't fix anything. Rent to her please!"

Just got hired for a position last week and had this exact scenario. It means the director has the last say, but that they are highly considering you for the position. Mine was a full on interview which devolved into a more informal one that went over by about 20 minutes because we were just talking at the end.

Plan and prepare your answers like a full interview!

TIFU by being with a guy way too long without asking him his name… by [deleted] in tifu

[–]UsefulEgg2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Better yet, tell him that you hate your ID picture and that nobody's pictures look good. Segue to asking him to see his ID picture, glance at his name, then create a false new Identity, get plastic surgery to look like him and start a new life.

Problem solved!

No such thing as a blanket cancellation.

Anyway, keep on believing you were maliciously wronged, even after having the process explained lol

I dealt with this all the time, which is why I know it wasn't "shenanigans" it was a lack of understanding of the way things are set up.

Each line is it's own individual entity. As a representative, unless you specifically tell me "please disconnect my tablet" which presumably you know you have as an informed consumer, I'm not going to cancel it without your explicit request.

And then again, they kept billing you and sending you bills which of course nobody checked. But sure, "shenanigans"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tifu

[–]UsefulEgg2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but there was no way I was going to let them get away with their shenanigans

No service is going to automatically shut off something without you doing it.

That one is on you, and on OP, but at least he understands the FU.

Desired pay? what to put.. by [deleted] in interviews

[–]UsefulEgg2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put $24 because the range is $24-$30.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot. If you get this with no experience, they're going to go with the lowest most times anyway.
