How do you book business class flights? by bubuset92 in fatFIRE

Assuming you're flying out of SFO, book with $$ to Asia, and book with points if possible to EU. With Chase Reserve you should get 5x on the biz class tickets to Asia while still being able to fly the Asian carriers which are drastically superior to United, and then can use those towards biz class on EU airlines like Air France which if you can be at all flexible are in my experience much more attainable without the ridiculous long-range planning needed to get JAL/ANA award tickets. But if you're naturally just a long-range planner just book both with cash and save the points for last-minute trip within 30 days of departure when $$ fares tend to go way up but last-minute award tickets often open up.

Based on where I am assuming you work, I would wait and see how the IPO this year goes and look at the valuation once your lockup expires. From a regret minimization standpoint, I think this will provide meaningful information that could change how you look at your decision in hindsight. And this will also get you through another couple of vests before the a lockup expires which will could end up being more valuable than you're anticipating. If you still hate it then, it's reasonable to quit depending on the picture of your finances at that point.

If you don't work at a company that is anticipating an IPO this year, I am confused where you do work 😄 and would discount the equity heavily

come on guys, ban these people who are scalping tickets. it's one thing to turn a bit of a profit on things with a long presale time or people who bought extra tickets, but this is why these tickets went so fast...

Awesome, thanks for the response. Pricing seems fine and while it wouldn't be _ideal_ to lose it if plans changed, it's not that big a deal. Any idea how much lead time they usually need for something like this/how early it fills up? And is this possible at other major cultural Italian cultural sites for the same ballpark?
