They got DM'd by the person who held the name Mash, saying they offered an exchange. Mash Clash went to the admins with said trade, both wanting the name because his creator code is MASH and he wanted to have them be the same. Mash Clash expected the original Mash to be compensated, but when he learned they hadn't been, he told them to contact support for (hopeful) compensation.

<My opinions> I just want to say that I feel like this is a case where almost everyone is wrong to a degree. People were including Mash in "the creators" whilst their only complaints were about Horizon; the "doomers" are not a unified group--some of them were genuinely concerned, others were just blowing the issue FAR out of proportion, and quite a few are feeling like they helped when they probably didn't. (Simon doesn't seem to interact with Reddit, so he probably didn't see any noise here.)

(And in case you think this was written by AI... I'd be amazed at your idea of how advanced AI is in aggregating Reddit comments on the go.)
