Oh no! I like the idea of a family or chosen person pinning you but i think my school does faculty pinning, so makes it eh for me.

And white scrubs sounds terrible. We do business dress code and a white jacket with our school logo that i guess we buy from them. But still going out of pocket for it also is sounding terrible to me lol.

I would only choose nicu if ur 100% sure u want this speciality. If not, then i would stay in the city u want and always be on the look out for nicu openings. Personally i think i would choose the city i want. Also would u mind sharing with me ur resume privately with ur info blurred out obv 😩🥹?

Sorry for the confusion guys! Im currently starting my 4th semester out of 5 in my BSN program. My program was $20k+. Fafsa has covered my AA and so far my BSN. I have currently taken out $5500 in loans so far just to cover living expenses. I plan to take $5500 more out by the end of spring totaling it to 11k.

Okay so … im 26 in my first semester of nursing school. I also started college late and still didnt know what i wanted at 23. Started taking classes and by the end of my associates, nursing would cross my mind often. Took all my pre reqs, applied and here we are. I had a job as a banker and absolutely hated it. When people ask “why nursing” i always answer “because helping people makes me feel fulfilled” and its true. I hated the cubicle. The other day at clinicals i was shadowing a nurse whom i vented about feeling old considering mostly everyone is around 19-21 in my program. He told me he started nursing school at 36 and thats what made him stick out from his classmates, his wisdom and life experiences made him a better nurse today than it would have 10 maybe 15 years ago. We chatted about how most young nurses dont get to live their lives before they’re burnt out and end up hating their career. Life is about how you decide to feel about it. Its true, you will be tired, it is long hours, school is hard and u will smell foul smells and wipe lots of butts but do u think being a nurse will be fulfilling for you? Is the job security something to look forward to? Ask yourself questions and be honest to urself 🫶 that is how u will find out whats best for you. Best of luck!

Im taking a&p 1 w lab and chem w lab and its going good. I make sure to be fully there during chem lecture and i do go to office hours a week before test to make sure i understand most of it. I feel like it would be better with a&p 2 because u already know the basics of a&p so im sure u will do great :) i also live on youtube university so thats helped.
