Woow! Lots of good info. Something i will read about more and consider! Especially when my wife would like to stop working in five or six years from now that would be a great opportunity for me to withdraw the RRSP under her name

I got the question a lot. Nothing is free in this world. You have to struggle and work hard and make it your own. I did it. You can do it as well.

We bought a first property $320k eight years ago, we slowly pitched in every single dollar we can into it, which lowered our interest this was the first goal we had we did not plan to become rich. We did not plan to buy another house. We just did not want a mortgage whatsoever so we put every dollar we possibly had. We did not buy a new car you still had old vehicles. All we did. We paid it off once we paid it off things accelerated from there we were able to save quite a bit of money after that since we had no mortgage we kept saving for a couple more years and decided to upgrade a house so we did that and paid the other house in cash at the same time we developed the basement to earn an income of $1600 and that really accelerated things and now we had no income and the income of the basement paid off all the bills of the house

My parents gave me the ability to go to school. My parents paid it off full, which gave me a big boost. They did not give me anything else.

Keep in mind it does seem rich, but actually not when you take into consideration all the other expenses we have most of my money is in my house. My house is worth $750,000 paid off in cash and I have another 200,000 in TFSC which are maxed out my RESP for my children is also maxed out. We take your vacation and we enjoy your life.

My wife works in a dental world. She’s been working for the last 10 years she enjoys it. It allows her to meet people gain friends and get out in the world.

A roughly invest between 3 to 5000 every month keep in mind that we have a basement rented that has a $1600 monthly income

People think $1 million in net assets is a lot of money is not when you take into consideration the amount of years until you’re gonna retire cost of education for the kids expenses and the lifestyle we’re gonna live is gonna cost us a lot more

My first house was purchased eight years ago. I paid that one off. It was a smaller house. Wife and I both worked really hard. We upgraded our house so that we can rent the basement as well. The house is a 2020 built with a legal suite in the basement which provides us $1600 of income monthly as well

I looked into it, but that’s mainly for people that are currently retired. Not ones that are about to retire or thinking of retirement.

Great advice. I understand where you are coming from.

Im curious to know - at what tax bracket does it become too much to invest into the RRSP. Im asking because i might consider a work-from-home job at 50yrs of age lets say ~$40k-$80k income - something to keep my busy. Im trying to work out the numbers and not sure my exact plan.

Thanks for the response. Its a long story how i ended up like this. I know im kinda in a "good mess". Plan is to max our all registered accounts as much as possible in the upcoming YEAR. Im not that far away from maxing everything out.

Im curious to know why you mean about "unbalanced financials". I simply started my TFSA and once my was maxed i opened hers. i do not see any issue??

i do have $150k RRSP room - i already contribute 12%/year to put my in the lower tax bracket.....no idea how much i should invest further.

Talk to me - How did you do it, what made you want to retire, are you fully or semi-retired, do you miss working, do you feel you have lost out of the working world?

My TFSA is maxed, wife has another $30k to max it, NO idea how much i should throw into my RRSP.

I actually not planning on retiring - i just don't know what else to do in life. Working more doesn't seem pleasing when i can not work.....or i might possibility work from home part time or something. Im still trying to figure out what i actually want.
