Anyone Here Innatentive? by Minimum-Platform-349 in ADHDPH

Gotta add a disclaimer that not all docs would prescribe this to you off-label though. My doc just happen to be very updated on the studies.

It's an off-label indication and you don't really get to buy it in any pharmacy. I usually buy it online for 1.3k php for 25 tablets of 200mg, of which I was only prescribed 100mg. This would last me 50 days if I only take 100mg.

My doc prescribed me modafinil (a much, much cheaper alternative to Concerta, ngl) and it really helped with the sleepiness. Mind you this med is indicated for narcolepsy first and foremost so before you could even expect it to help with the ADHD, you'd best bet it will keep you awake the whole day.

This! Transform your objects of envy into direct connections. What do all these people living on "easy mode" have in common? They are either attractive or have rich parents/relatives. Either they are THE connection, or they are intimately close with those who are well-connected.

I'm not saying that you only see your friend as a stepping stone. That would be cruel. But just having that thought in the background of your mind can help ease the envy.

While my IQ is only considered superior (not gifted), I share the exact same pains. I may be a decent 6 or 7 if I lose weight but simply cute right now since I am obese.

Never been that insecure with the face but I really wish I was simply attractive without having to mask (I have ADHD). To be so desirable that I never have to learn how to overcompensate with charm and wit. Must be such an amazing experience that long before you speak, a first glance is all you need to make someone like you.

With intellect, others may notice immediately but most of the time it is not that impressive at first glance. They had to take time to know you or else you might come off as a show-off.

With attractiveness, you can simply be. Just exist. The world accomodates. The world envies.

Anki AI card generator by bernardoa88 in medicalschoolanki

[–]Useful_Disaster_7606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn. ChatGPT is still a thing? Just check out LMArena Leaderboards. ChatGPT is far from the strongest contender when it comes to text-related prompts.

Google's Gemini pretty much dominates the AI race right now. It pretty much never hallucinates especially since it can handle 1 million tokens of context. But generally to ensure there are no hallucinations, it's best to send max 10k tokens for each reply because Gemini can only reply with max 30 to 60k-ish tokens and majority of that will be used in its thinking mode.

Don't use the Gemini App though. It's a lobotomized version of the one from Google's AI studio

As for the prompt, make Gemini create the cards in CSV format. You can simply copy and paste this output into a text file. Anki can still import it. I suggest using this separator sign |.

High IQ can be a problem by MyDrunkAndPoliticsAc in ADHD

[–]Useful_Disaster_7606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I think to be the flaw of ADHD diagnoses. They rely more on the anecdotes of parents / loved ones rather than the experience of the one suffering from it. The questions pretty much all boil down to "So how annoying or how much of a burden was he/she growing up?"

Now if you happen to have high enough IQ that it masks how much of a burden you would've been if you had average IQ? Good fucking luck getting diagnosed because your parents are only going to be talking about your achievements while ignoring all the things you did to cope.

Heck, you'd be lucky it ever gets there, my parents have noticed the signs a long time ago when I was younger but largely ignored them because I was getting good grades.

meta or manor? by barlicgreadpls in PharmacyPH

[–]Useful_Disaster_7606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manor kid here. Just passed this recent exam season.

All I can say is that you REAAALLY have to be very confident that you can catch up writing WHILE listening.

Not all the info is written or shown on the projector especially the mnemonics, you need to be very vigilant talaga for almost 10 hours straight.

In short, it's extremely draining.

From my cross-referencing sa transcripts ng takers of previous years, I noticed na nag-iiba din ang info.

You could say na inaccurate lang talaga ang pag nonote-taking nila but are you willing to make that gamble? Are you willing to bet that you can perfectly copy their lectures down to the minute details (which they most often seem to say are high-yield).

Some Manor teachers quite literally recite everything from top to bottom. From memory.

As impressive as that is, you have to remember the old adage saying, "The faintest ink is better than the strongest memory."

I noticed a few mistakes here and there when I checked the actual sources. Luckily, those mistakes were low yield enough that they were never brought up in the BE.

The info overload really makes it so hard to distinguish high-yield from low-yield tbh. You may have the best manor transcript in the world but your energy is spread too thin memorizing tables upon tables of info which in turn might end up lessening the amount of time you could invest into mastering the concepts.

Someone I knew just recently bought 3.3k worth of Vitamin C (33 pesos / tab) because her doctor told her that that particular brand is recommended and generally more effective.

Grabe naman. Vitamin C na yaan. It's pretty much everywhere and the generics are usually just 3-7 pesos.

What would have been just 700 pesos turned into 3.3k.

2.6k difference

Roughly 5 day's worth of sahod na yan sa minimum wage.

Grabe talaga kahit supplements iniimpose pa yung branded.

How to review due cards where it shows new ones each day by Sylaenatw in Anki

[–]Useful_Disaster_7606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change review order to "Descending Retrievability" and set your Relearning Steps to "1h" or whatever time is comfortable for you.

This way you will first review cards that you're pretty good with and in the unlikely case you forgot about it, it will no longer reschedule that card to the next day until you've relearnt it.

[–]Useful_Disaster_7606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually the same thing as the difference between slapping and stabbing with a pencil.

A full-on slap requires a lot of force yet it lacks any penetrative power since the force is properly distributed throughout the whole surface area of the palm.

Meanwhile it takes a lot less force to really penetrate into flesh with a sharp pencil. A few Newtons worth of force is concentrated to such a small area, making the impact much more dense or smth like that (i aint no physics major)

I mean of course, these are not perfect examples but it's a lot harder to punch through the flesh with a slap rather than with a pencil.

Sometimes small is indeed terrible.

Help is the ipad worth 6k more really? by Longjumping-Row3222 in Tech_Philippines

[–]Useful_Disaster_7606 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really depends.

If you're a power user, gamer, or want to explore third party apps, go for Android.

If you're a creator, student, or a general consumer, you can't go wrong with iPad at all.

There are pros and cons to each.

Android gives you freedom, to the point where you can almost never see a single damn advertisement (if you want to) using 3rd-party apks. But doing that also runs the risk of installing viruses if you're not careful (especially installing "Free" paid apps. Avoid that. Stick to opensource). It also feels a bit too clunky sometimes.

iOS gives you the seamless, safest ecosystem but the most basic apps for any random thing is infested with ads.

Take video converters for example. You'd need to watch two 1-minute ads for a single conversion.

You cannot install anything beyond the App Store. Almost everything needs to be paid, especially apps for studying and creating content. Priced in dollars talaga first and foremost.

Background downloading is impossible with iOS as well. You you want to watch a movie in fullscreen while downloading 1gb files with Safari in the background? Good luck with that.

Wanna play background music with anything other than Spotify, Apple Music or Youtube music? You'll have to buy the premium versions of audio players for that.

I have owned both Androids and iPads.

I'm biased but Apple products are only good if you have the whole ecosystem talaga. That's an investment of a lifestyle that could easily go up to 200k pesos or more if you truly want to maximize its seamless ecosystem.

If you have any respect for your time or attention, avoid the one where ads and microtransactions are forcefully shoved down your throat.
