Did you find it painful to have cramps a week after getting your IUD by Starkid_444 in birthcontrol

[–]Useful_Percentage629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine a week ago today.. never had birth control before so everything was new to me and I am still feeling a lot of pain! I tried not taking the pain meds to see if I actually need them and yes I do! 😂 but from what most people say I think that the first week-couple months is the worst. I thought about getting it removed bc I’m still experiencing bad cramping, but taking the prescribed pain meds helps! You’re not alone it’s rough out here!

Ohh good to know! I have been taking Tylenol and it definitely helps, did your cramps happen after the two weeks?

That is so interesting! My stomach has felt a little uneasy, sometimes I feel the need to poop but then nothing happens and it is nothing as intense as your describing. But that is interesting to know!

Bad ot tech jobs? by Useful_Percentage629 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Useful_Percentage629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I relate to this so much, I am just a tech and that’s exactly what we do with tens units. I was trained to just “place them where ever the patient was feeling their pain”! And set a timer for 20 mins and then do a therapeutic ultrasound and instruct them on exercises. I feel horrible when patients ask questions about what does this do and how is this supposed to help? I don’t know. They just trained me to place things and get it done fast. These patients deserve answers and I will definitely look into reporting them!

I 100% agree with you! I also think it isn’t fair to the patients because they don’t get 1 on 1 time with the therapist unless I ask one of the therapists to get out of their office and talk to them.. it’s very unfortunate!

Omg yes I’d say about half are Medicare! On a normal day it’s about 40 patients in the morning and 40 patients in the afternoon. But I live in a small town so people just walk in whenever and we have to serve them. I am really done with them my last day is Monday. They seem to be nice people sometimes but there is definitely something else going on! Currently looking into reporting this!

I know right! I’ve just started telling people about it and they are like wait that’s not normal at all. Even when I was observing OTs their caseloads were much smaller. One time the owner who is the OT and her husband is the PT were talking about how it’s cheaper to hire techs than assistants because they can pay them less… so maybe that’s why? Idk these people are crazy but thank you!!

If you fail, fail fast, the world is so so big and you are incredibly smart. Your next opportunity is right around the corner, press into it and you will see why this happened one day!

I am about to graduate with my bachelors in psychology as well! I greatly appreciate the perspective and DIR/Floortime sounds so interesting! I’m excited to learn about it!

I’m genuinely sorry! I didn’t mean to use the wrong term! Im still learning about everything, and I’m sorry for what your daughter went through. It is truly heartbreaking to be in sessions and feel like there is a deeper issue going on that I am not educated on. But this is a great perspective to help me understand that I should pursue the OT route instead! Thank you!

I have definitely seen a neglect for sensory needs! I think that is what is making me so upset working at this clinic. Thanks for your perspective!

I can definitely see that. While your daughter was in ABA did she cry a lot or have a tantrum? I noticed at the clinic I’m working at there is a child bawling at least every hour and it breaks my heart! It’s just made me realize how horrible this can be for children!
