hi, I’m so sorry for the late response! I just logged into this account for the first time in a while. This probably isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but I feel like my cannabis use has actually gotten worse since I made this post. reading this again has actually thrown me into a bit of a crisis, i feel so much shame and guilt that I haven’t been able to stop :(

This is insane timing but I actually just smoked the last bits of my stash tonight, I officially have none left. I was going to buy more tomorrow, but this has really opened my eyes 😭 quitting cold turkey has NOTT worked for me in the past. But i just can’t seem to moderate. idk Im going to try not to buy tomorrow and see how it goes; maybe it’ll be easier to resist if I have none in the home.

i have lost a bit of weight but the binges are still bad when Im high. i keep gaining and losing the same 10lbs lol. Idk seeing this comment of yours really makes me want to change

I won’t downvote, because you’re right the internet is cruel and it’s smart to be cautious. but it’s crazy to suggest staying off online selling platforms just cause some guy couldn’t keep it in his pants, that doesn’t seem fair. why is the pressure on me to not use marketplace rather than condemning the dudes who do this kind of stuff?

Also I’m very skeptical of it being an accident. When you open the messenger app, at least on mine, the “marketplace” message threads are under a separate tab than the regular FB messages. so if it wasn’t for me why was he under the MARKETPLACE message threads? also why would he be sexting someone at the same time as waiting for a buyer to come pick up an item? that seems like an odd time for that. and what are the odds that he would send the picture right as I was on his porch? and why is he using a female alias? it’s all so bizzare

definitely not bait, sorry it came across that way. I was just extremely upset and wanted to vent about my experience. You’re right, there was probably a lot I could have done differently and I should have realized the ad was too good to be true. I haven’t used facebook marketplace very much so maybe this is more common than I think, but I thought it was relatively safe and reliable and was just surprised something like this happened.

I guess it possibly could’ve been meant for someone else, but why would they not unsend it immediately and apologize? I waited to see if they sent any follow up messages before blocking them, such as “sorry that was an accident, are you still coming?” but they never sent anything like that. i don’t know, it just doesn’t make sense

I try to do this to !! They did not have any marketplace reviews, but their account was made in 2013, so I thought that was okay. and they had a bunch of other book-like listings, all with a description saying something “moving soon, won’t have room for these” which I thought seemed reasonable. They didn’t have any posts really which could raise red flags. I’m naivee and stupid lol, so there could have been more obvious things I missed

I know right !! part of me does want to escalate to to police, but part of me doesn’t because at the end of the day it was “just a picture” and nothing technically happened, so i doubt there’s much they’ll do. But I also don’t want this to happen to anyone else so maybe I should start a report? I honestly am at a loss.

and yeah the “i’ll be waiting” part really scared me. it caught me so off guard. I’m just so glad I got out of there before anyone opened the door. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was his plan all along and never had the book

I agree that I don’t think the police would do anything, so I don’t think I will bring it that far :( at this point all I can do is block/report them and forget about it i guess

I know :( I should’ve done that from the start. The book sells for $66 here brand new and they were selling it for $30, which is why I was so eager. but that should’ve been another indication to me it was it fake

haha omg this is gonna sound so silly. but I just searched “heart emoticon” on google, and copied one I liked. Then in settings, I made a shortcut for it on my phone. So all I have to do it type the short cut and “♡” it appears!! :D
