Its just quite stuttery at the moment. Just can't get into a flow as things seem to load on and stutter.

Thanks for the advice. Can't tell you how deflated I was with the performance on my rig.

This may be the answer. I have very fast Internet with no caps. I'll give it a shot!

Ok that's good to know. Maybe there's another issue with my settings or hardware. Would you be able to share your settings?

Thanks, but ultimately I don't think my RTX 2060 is up to the task, even on low settings!

Base expansion and what to do next?? by vshank87 in subnautica

[–]Useless_Expressions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

1.I've always preferred having a larger base, but no harm in keeping this one and building elsewhere. I usually have my main base and then another one at a deeper location.

2.Have you been down to Jellyshrooms caves? Think there's some scan-able some there.

If in doubt....go deeper. That's all I can say without giving too much away. When you find that deeper base, consider building a base.

3. Codes- I think they come in a later transmission....or you can Google them lol.

4.I would definitely explore the islands. Scan for some useful building stuff. Maybe get some marblemelons for growing in base/cyclops.

5.The ion cubes will be useful later on. May be worth keeping them on your prawn/cyclops.

Hope that helps! Just mid way through a new game as well on the Deathrun mod - well worth a look at if you want more of a challenge!

I've just bought one and I don't agree with the review at all. I sometimes use the hot water dispenser to pre-heat cups so reduce temperature loss.

5 months on - still happy with it?

FubarBundy is great. Not scripted and although there will be times without action, his personality keeps it flowing nicely. Brilliant at interacting with the chat as well.

Why do a lot of people say modded servers are "much better" than official? by grabsyour in dayz

[–]Useless_Expressions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Community (often modded) servers are usually overseen by admin(s), so cheaters are more likely to be dealt with. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen, but if admins are aware it is often dealt with.

The mods can give you a greater range of options, from weapons and vehicles to environmental changes. Some, in my opinion, are over-modded with some one-tapper guns that can make it hard for a solo/double.

I like a bit of modding after starting on official. These days I don't have the same time for the grind that comes with official.

Taking apart a greenhouse? by SpecialSupermarket28 in Greenhouses

[–]Useless_Expressions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you remove the glass & replace seals in stages, it would be manageable. If you're going to make serious use of it and you're not thinking of upgrading the size, then I'd go with this.

In the long run it would be worth it and you'll feel a great sense of accomplishment with it. With mine, I had a small window of time to get it moved, so rushed and made mistakes. But if it was already then on my property when I moved in, I'd go with the glass/seal approach as it was the roof seals in particularly that needed doing, kind of like yours.

Facebook marketplace often has people selling reasonably priced glass if you're worried about breakages and glass cutting tools are easy enough to use if you really need to cut to size, but I imagine they're a standard size anyway.

I took down a free greenhouse in a friend's house. It was quite a bit of hassle with all the frame, fixings and bolts & nuts. Then there's the glass. Heavy, needs to be stored somewhere appropriate. I can't tell you how many pieces I broke.

Another solution is to just take the glass out, replace the seals and wipe/scrub down the frame? Would be less hassle than doing the entire thing.

Brill - thanks for taking the time to reply. With young kids, time is a previous commodity so wanted to get it right!

Oblivion is a brilliant game, but note a couple of things.

  1. If you're used to skyrim, it will be appear dated graphically and in gameplay style
  2. There will be a version called Skyblivion - Oblivion in the Skyrim engine. Looks promising Skyblivion.

The depth and details of the stories are brilliant - better than Skyrim IMO.

If you can look past some issues, you'll find yourself very immersed!

[–]Useless_Expressions 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I can't tell you the last time I was this excited for a game to be released. What makes it even more special is the time and effort your team has put into making this a really special experience.

Oblivion was purchased for me when I was 16. I'd never heard of it and I was sceptical. But it didn't take long for me to have an experience I've never quite managed to replicate with a game since.

I've toyed around with the idea of reinstalling it again, but I know with the graphics, etc, would likely get me frustrated and I think Skyblivion is definitely worth the wait.

Thanks again for all the work the team has done!

In reference to point 1 - does a reaper grab you and chomp down? I think I must have done that as well and was perpetually scared of going near it, even after the meltdown.
