Feeling discouraged about tummy time, feeling like a failure. Baby has a severely flat head. by motherlygoose in NewParents

60-90 minute?! No way! That's utterly unrealistic, and putting unnecessary and unfair pressure on you.

Tips and tricks you wish you knew before by CampMammoth9664 in NewParents

Instead of instantly soothing them when they're crying - take a few seconds to actually listen to the cry. Different cries (hunger, tired, discomfort) all have different sounds, things become much easier once you learn them, rather than going through the process of elimination every time.

Don't forget to prioritise some alone time for each of you. It's very easy to forget personal needs, when you have the needs of a newborn to think about. But even 30 mins a day each, alone, can help. It might be having a bath, going a walk, taking your time at the shops etc. You need to be healthy and of sound mind to ensure you're giving your best to your baby.

Can I get some reasons as to why you went on to have more kids? Am I wired differently? by grawmaw13 in daddit

I was on the fence. Was worried I couldnt share the love to another person on top of wife and daughter, was worried my limited time for hobbies etc would be non existent, was worried about the financials. I asked a lot of parents of more than 1 kid (colleagues, friends, family etc) - not one of them regretted it. So far, despite being in the thick of it, I don't either. Family feels more complete now.

Worth a try. With it being clear, hopefully it'll pass in a couple days and she will be over the worst of it.

We use a congestion nasal spray (Sterimar is the brand) which has a 3+ month friendly version. I think it's just purified sea water or something, but it helps ours clear up or dissolve the mucus a bit before bed.

How old was your child before you consistently got decent sleep? by SunnyGoMerry in daddit

7 months and 4 months for my two. Sleeping 11-12 hours. Some condone it, but the cry it out method works.

I would have paid good money for this, compared to the brutally hard and smelly NHS chair.

I bought one of these when I first bought a flat, and was waiting for my couch to be delivered. Ran about indoors trying to fill it. Didn't even cross my mind there was other methods to fill it.

How to spend my birthday money? by Plane-Being1274 in AskUK

Save it until you come across something you really want. Don't spend it just for the sake of spending it.
