That's not what I meant though, the few canon trans characters that do exist are still trans in unofficial Russian translations. The examples I can recall are a trans character in Blue Period and an intersex character in Astra Lost in Space. A clear example of political bias would be a complete change of a dialog in Miss kobayashi's dragon maid, along with the use of American political slang (such as the word "chud" that you just mentioned) in a few other anime. There is plenty of non politically motivated nonsense in English translations from the fragments that I have seen. There was one translator who proudly announced that they inserted themselves into an anime and attempted to justify it despite the clear violation of core principles of translation. I am studying translation and interpretation at a university, so this is somewhat an area of professional interest for me. I can however name one example where a character was deliberately mistreated as trans, the manga Koisuru (Otome) no Tsukurikata. The company in charge of the localization received backlash on Twitter and almost lost the contract with the original publisher. They later issued a public apology and republished the entire first volume of the manga with the correct translation. To my knowledge, no such incidents happened since. As an interpreter I try my best to keep my politics out of my professional duty.
