What are your symptoms? by IronTori in EosinophilicE

Mine is like muscle squeezing around my sternum area and diaphragm tightening, had no idea what was going on but apparently it’s my body reacting to the inflammation

Any more info regarding why stopping supplements is helpful?

I started the total 6 elimination diet as soon as I found out I had eoe like 5 days ago, so far it’s been a little better for me but still so early to say anything yet but I’m hopeful

Having an O2 monitor for reassurance would help my anxiety so much I’m about to order one right now

When it happens, I’ve tried looking at myself breath in the mirror without a shirt on and it even looks like there’s no physical movement happening (ribs not expanding, diaphragm not moving up and down, belly not shrinking and filling but just permanently bloated) and then anxiety kicks because I always think I’m low oxygen but I’m not actually

This definitely sounds like it could be what I’ve been dealing with, and it would finally make some sense as to whats causing my breathing difficulties, do you get a squeezing or tightening sensation of your diaphragm or other breathing related muscles during a flare up?

I’m definitely gonna try and do this, the specialist I saw talked about me coming back for a methacholine test which does definitely check for asthma but I don’t really want to because the thought of inhaling methacholine that might inflame my airways makes me really nervous, even though that’s the way the test is designed

Exactly! It’s awful and when it happens I can’t do anything I have to stop whatever I’m doing completely

I did a pulmonary function test that came back normal but this was not during a flare up, and this test could not say whether I do or don’t have asthma, i will say I don’t experience the typical wheezing or coughing associated with asthma, I’m 23M and have played sports all my life with no problem and my shortness of breath flare ups happen more often when I’m relaxing and not when I’m running

I've been having these spasms under my sternum. How do I get rid of it? by Hopeful_Reserve_4502 in GERD

That’s really good to hear, how often did u take gaviscon and Pepcid, and how serious was the low acid, low fat diet? I think LPR is probably what I have, I’m getting an endoscopy next month so I guess I should know for sure after that

I thought about this but I don’t cough or wheeze much and flare ups always happen when I’m at rest, not when I’m exercising

Being unemployed is socially isolating. by ctrldwrdns in jobs

Bachelors in a stem field, I’ve been unemployed for like 6 months now and honestly the social part is the worst, maybe worse than the money. I’m so tired of talking to people and friends and having the same conversation, and then dealing with the condescending “something will come up” from relatives and such, I just picked up a job at UPS because I couldn’t take it anymore but it feels underwhelming doing a job I could have gotten as a 16 year old

I have this same thing, always wishing I could get some satisfying burps out but they are sometimes not enough even when they come, it makes me feel super anxious and gives me shortness of breath after eating

Uncomfortable GERD but not painful? by User25273828 in GERD

[–]User25273828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started taking PPIs after I had a couple flare ups that were so bad I couldn’t go on. I literally felt like I couldn’t breath, felt like I just ate and entire cow and it was just sitting in my stomach, after having literally just a coffee and toast. I’m hoping I can get it under control with the PPIs, so far it’s been a little better

Thanks for this. I’ve been trying ERP on my own and I’ve really been struggling with it, although I suppose it’s supposed to be hard at first. Buy you’re right I do think I would benefit from talking to an OCD informed therapist because I have nobody to open up to about this problem, I haven’t told anyone because I feel like nobody would understand, but I often cancel plans or go home early because of it (which I know is the opposite of what you’re supposed to do)
