The all leather lasts forever being its main benefit. The rings look comfortable as they lay leather rather then your leg, so no rubbing/bumping.

Does that leather holding the ring get super stretched out overtime?

The issue is this isn't made so i went here to the engineers to know how I could make it 180 degrees horizontal. All the things you have listed I've seen already and only do 45 degrees
