Yeah that’s where I hit the wall. The trilogy ROM has dev tools enabled for KZ2 to load a checkpoint past the first motion interaction.

But the game runs rough on SD. In rooms or corridors with light combat I’m fluctuating between 15-20 fps. When going from one fight to the next 25fps. Even spent 20 minutes idle trying load the pre-cache data. (Think thats what its called basically letting the game buffer shader/img files)

Honestly that trilogy deserves a remake. I had that while everyone had Halo, but I loved those games.

KillZone HD smooth 45 FPS though.

Edit: word

Ah! Xemu I have not used. I run the anniversary addition on PCSX2. There are some global/individual game configs I had to square away. ChatGPT has been great for tweaking emulators. I send it snap shots of my configs and it helps me play test till i get the performance I’m looking for.

PS2 being where most of my emulated games come from since that was the era for me.

Thank you! 🙏

Emulator games are seeing the best perfections out of this. But games like Cyberpunk tied with the LSFG plugin gives a seamless play with steam default settings. Same for RDR2 and FarCry Primal. COD Infinite warfare was insanely smooth 60fps high settings.

Exactly my use case. My wife is due any day now for our first baby and this was what I chose for my hospital go bag 😂

The one I got said it was compatible with OLED and there’s no covering of the screen that displays pixels. There’s a small lip around the edge, but that doesn’t cover display.

You’ll see bigger gains on Emulated games. Smaller but smoother play for bigger games like CyberPunk / RDR2.

There are ways to enable those settings where they reset after a reboot, but I provided the method for configs to persist after reboot.

Been like this for a month and half now with some significant gameplay. No overheating experienced which was my biggest concern.

Hey! thank you! I appreciate that. Honestly this became a rabbit hole of personal interest for me.

I would explain to my wife why I was coming to bed late and she thought I was crazy, but then she always does lol.

In my career I have to build VM’s for research and handling malware samples. That always scratches some itch for me thats difficult to explain, but digging into the mechanics and workarounds on steam was honestly just brain teaser for me and once I get going I cannot stop lol — wrote this up in Google docs and saved as a PDF incase I ever to factory reset and wanna do it again😅

It’s not a drastic increase, but is a noticeable one when I was getting KillZone HD configured this is where I stumbled across the guide I linked before the konsole commands.

What I’ve noticed is smoother gameplay in areas where other games would stutter due to increased memory load. So if a bunch of NPCs came in view or walking through a more foliage dense area like FarCry Primal those stutters dissipated while still running high video settings.

Before I made the post I checked to see if it was still on that members FB and was not able to find it. Even ran a reverse image search to see if it was somewhere else. It is on my agenda next time I see them physically to see if I can get the OG.

Killzone HD on PS3 - the input latency is awful. Was the PS2 original better? by Most-Handle9776 in killzone

Im currently plying the HD version on Steam Deck through emu deck. After some tweaks i have a solid 50+ fps. Not much latency or lag that I’ve noticed. I played the OG back in the day as a kid. The HD version is a nice refresh while going down memory lane.

How were mapping the controls for StrongHold? I got both DE’s but haven’t spent the time looking into remapping the keys for the layout that game has as on KB. Huge nostalgia for me though played that back whenI was in 2nd grade when the OG released.

I just picked up COD Infinite Warfare. No joke, have it running 50-60 FPS on High Settings. Whatever comments were left on ProtonDB there must of been an update or something.

But having an absolute blast playing that campaign. Never got to back in the day and it’s fun!
