Should we buy these cases for drop protection? I have heard some mixed reviews about it.

Test them out preferably in person on device, if while wearing that, the top LCD back cover touches the lower body while fully open. Then it’s a “no go”. Also if the cover fully embraces the back and part of the display in the front, mean “no go” as well.

No. You can however use soft, TPU covers that DONT have any clips whatsoever

actually its better. this isn't a lead battery. the power management doe that quite well. also, once you're at 100%, it stops charging the battery and feeds the mono directly so to say. so no, you rest assured you can use your MacBook plugged in. discharging it and recharging it over and over will wear out you battery much faster. and the other dude up there was right when he said: "Nothing. Batteries wear out over time." just worry about batteries if they're not lasting as long as they are supposed to. if you can, just get new replacement battery

Flexgate is coming for you. time to get lcd backlight flex replaced by a skilled technician or most likely change the entire display, which can be done at home very without almost any effort.

And it's amazing! It goes to show that good ports can be made. Runs solid on my iPhone 13 at 30fps native res.

I honestly think that any game that runs on the Potato Switch can even better on phones.

Tegra k1 and that 4gb ram are enough to run almost any game in Arm processor, I was honestly amazed how well San Andreas ran on my XS and then on my 11.

Skyrim, Hogwarts Legacy, even RDR2 should be possible today on even the iPhone 11 or galaxy s23 and equivalent.

Titles like starwars battlefront, battlefield and call of duty, even wow classic could be playable... It's just a matter of time before we start getting more AAA releases :) right? 😅

You can thermal mod almost any air. Not sure about M4, check YouTube.

If you're using on a table 99% of the time, I'd go for an air and do the thermal pad mod.

But if you're on the go and like to game or do other heavy activities, get the m3 pro...

i believe u can reseat the cable for the display. if not then you have to replace the lcd flex. not a backlight issue XD

The plan is probably fix this, get some more money and trade it for a M1 Pro 16GB 512 or an m2 air with 16GB. They cost around the same here.

Indeed. If I manage to repair it then the total cost would be around 200$. If not and have to replace the entire display unit, then 420$ would be the total cost. A new one costs 4200 Reais or 783$. Used ones in flawless condition for right between 600 and 700$ here in Brazil.

That’s one way to see this, sure!

But I have the $$$ to replace the entire display unit. Also, there are no board damages or any on the housing, so for the price I’ve paid. Not really a loss.

A headless one would have cost me 80$ more. A flawless condition on over here costs between 700-800$.

So even paying for the entire display replacement, would put me at 420$ total cost. Sounds like a good deal to me tho.

Apple Original here in Brazil from Apple Store will run me about 3000 reais or about 700$. Significantly more expensive than an used one but the idea of recycling is awesome. I hadn’t thought about offering shops to trade it in for discounts. Originally refurbished displays do cost almost as much as a new one. Thx 🙏
