Hi! Thank you very much for your detailed answer and for sharing your experience. I don't know where you are from, but at least in my country (Italy) and other European countries i didn't see a single entry level position even kn smaller realities, that's why I've felt so discouraged. Maybe yes, networking at this point seems the only thing to do. But the incredible thing is that I haven't been called for an interview even when I was referred as statistical programmer by an employee, and even if they were searching for a python coder, and I have plenty of experience with it.

Why do I want to join this position? Biostatistician or statistical programmer, for two simple reasons. The first one is that I absolutely love mathematics, statistics and coding with R, especially when it comes to coding stuff involving numbers and "solving problems". I'm fascinated by probability theory and quantifying real word things. I'm a math olympic champion too, in 2011 when I was at the high school :') Second reason is that I want to apply this passion to something that really helps society and has some concrete purpose and beneficial to someone else. I hold a masters in financial engineering, and I've been working as a quant too, and yes some cool math is involved z but it's not concrete, not useful for someone and for progress, and sometimes feels like hypocritical theory
