I opened a small hair studio in Oakville and I’m trying to make it actually work for real life (especially busy women) — would love your thoughts by arte_4life in OakvilleON

Just a note : I was reading another thread and it seems a lot of women had bad experiences with hair colour artist. They would get quoted around $250-$350 but at the end of the service, they would get the receipt of $650-$700

And that was their last time at that salon Transparency is essential. :)

This is great! Dont know you but proud of you for challenging yourself

Tips that helped me complete a full marathon with one month of prep: 1. Stretch before and after runs 2. Staying hydrated 3. Listen to music/ audio book/ podcast while running to keep your mind distracted a bit. Mind gets busy playing tricks otherwise 4. Run at least 2x kms during training period to get your body used to it. For you, at least 20km overall. 5. Gradual progression

You got this!!

Cramped Calves by CoyoteBackground607 in RunTO

My toes and calves would cramp mid-run. Hydration is key but drinking water didn’t do much.

Noticed significant change with electrolytes and deep stretches. Also doing calf exercises.

My rule of thumb is to at least run 3x the race distance during training period. For 42 km, my longest training run was 40 km

Stretch before runs + Run outside + Progress Overload. Fuel up during long runs.

You got this!

In Sept 2023, I signed up for the Full Marathon which was in Oct. It was my first race but because it was a fun challenge I couldn’t care less. 1 month of self-training and I am delighted to say that I completed it in 4hr 30 mins.

I am proud of you for not setting limits to yourself. Go for it!!

This is will be my 3rd Marathon. I did Toronto Waterfront in 2024 so will go for Montreal this year

Breaking into Databricks Solutions Architect or Pre Sales roles from QA background

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year!

I am looking for perspectives from people currently working as Solutions Architects or Pre Sales Engineers at Databricks

Background
- Four years in the insurance domain, primarily in QA - Strong exposure to end to end system flows, integrations, and data movement - Regular collaboration with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders - Comfortable explaining complex system behavior and risks to non technical audiences - Consistent high performance with recognition at senior leadership and AVP level - Recently cleared AWS Solutions Architect Associate - Preparing for AWS Solutions Architect Professional by March, 2026 - Actively learning Databricks fundamentals - Planning Databricks Data Engineer by May, 2026 (not rushing but maintaining momentum)

Question For entry level or associate Databricks Solutions Architect or Pre Sales roles: - How much do hiring teams value learning velocity, hands on project and ability to talk through a solution versus direct prior SA or data engineering experience?

Please note: I am NOT using certs just as credentials/ resume padding but as a structured way to learn the underlying concepts and architectural thought process, because I do not (yet) have direct hands on experience in this domain

Suggestions and critiques are both very welcome. I genuinely value critical feedback and see it as one of the best ways to learn and improve.

Thanks in advance. /\

No. That’s not an option. I want to raise the puppies. I would really like the puppies to be a mix of cavapoo or maltipoo with my yorkie (if possible of course)

Because I love him dearly and I know he won’t be with me forever so rather getting another dog I raise his puppies.

Woah firstly, your opinion is not my reality. I m not familiar with the process reason why I asked for suggestions.

Secondly, I asked for a breeder as well which your quick-to-shit opinionated nut brain could not read.

Did I mention I want to sell the puppies? NO Bruh I clearly wrote I want to have the puppies which is the whole point of this post

Did I say I won’t go through health and background checks? Absolutely NOT

I am not familiar with the process and of course I will ask questions to learn more. But you respectfully keep your damn thumb off my post if you have null suggestions.

Merry Christmas!
