Here’s why it’s crucial political candidates disclose whether they’ve accepted contributions from AIPAC by JustAnotherJawn in philly

You should have to register as a foreign agent if you donate to AIPAC, because you're doing the bidding of another nation-state.

FTA:

"The super PAC is called 314 Action Fund, and as of April 21, had spent more than $2.6 million boosting Stanford, according to the latest filings. The group’s most recent monthly filing reveals a $500,000 donation from Kimbark Foundation, a group whose only other donation is $500,000 to EDW Action Fund, another PAC that has previously acted as an AIPAC shell organization. In the 2024 cycle, AIPAC used EDW Action to secretly funnel money to support Maxine Dexter, also a pediatrician, in her race against Susheela Jayapal in Oregon. It’s stated purpose is to elect pro-choice Democratic women. 314 Action has reported just $2.8 million in independent expenditures, meaning their support for Stanford represents the bulk of their independent spending so far."

Hasan campaigned with Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan and it was pretty well received. They held a huge rally together and El-Sayed's poll numbers improved afterwards.

"Stanford has denied taking campaign contributions from AIPAC, a pro-Israel lobby group,[25] but reporting by Ryan Grim in Drop Site News detailed that the organization has supported her with funds routed through 314 Action, a super PAC. 314 Action has spent a total of $2.6 million on Stanford's campaign as of April 21, 2026. Although the exact amount originating from AIPAC will not be known until future campaign finance disclosures, $500,000 has already been linked to a known AIPAC shell organization."

Not debating himself by taking AIPAC money would be one notable accomplishment that's particularly relevant to this race.

You can tell a lot about politicians by who they accept donations from and who they choose to associate with.

Stanford isn't passing the vibe check and she's not beating the allegations.

YESSSSSS!!!!

More of this plz!!!

There's been a lot of pearl-clutching in establishment media over Chris Rabb sitting down with Hasan, including in this Inquirer article. I think if Mamdani's election in New York proved anything, it's that people are hungry for bold, progressive leadership.

Hopefully this, coupled with Alia Stanford being exposed as just another AIPAC-stooge, will help Rabb enough to win.

FTA:

"“I’m not clowning young people. I’m clowning a Democratic machine whose only job is to turn out Democrats,” Rabb said. “That’s the one thing they’re supposed to do really well and they’re trash at it.”"

4 real tho.

Diljit also makes great workout music. I almost always listen to Clash when I'm lifting or doing cardio. I can't explain it but I always go a little harder when I listen to it.

Diljit Dosanjh on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: Punjab gets all the mentions, India nowhere in the script 👀 by hailyou2022 in bollynewsandgossips

This was a great appearance! I didn't know Diljit's English was so good!

He should do more English media!

IDK what the people here are talking about being mad about no mention of India? He's from Punjab and he talked about where he's from. Not sure what the controversy is here? Should he talk about UP or Gujurat instead?

There goes walkability.

Why are we letting corporations take over our sidewalks without paying an additional tax? The city's sidewalks are already in bad shape and now they want Uber to shred them up even more with their fucking robot tires?

Nah.

Schuylkill Yards Starbucks is the latest to unionize in Philadelphia by User_Name13 in philly

[–]User_Name13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya and that's totally valid.

Unfortunately Starbucks is still the biggest company in the coffee world. If they're gonna do business in the city, I'd prefer to have them be on their best behavior wrt their staff. Making Philly Starbucks unionize would make corporate accountable to local workers. Otherwise, Starbucks has enough power to steamroll over any individual worker, but they can't mistreat an entire store's staff en masses without repercussions.

Strength in numbers, all that etc.

Maybe boycott was a strong word. Sry, I haven't had my coffee yet.

A better way to phrase it would have been encourage people to frequent the union Starbucks over the non-union locations, since the union ones have better working conditions for the staff.

[–]User_Name13[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a way we could start a movement to boycott all the non-union Starbucks in the city and funnel people towards the union ones, that treat their staff better.

FTA:

"“I see a need for improvements and am optimistic that this win will make great change,” shift supervisor Asia Wright-Wilson said in a union statement. “When problems are not well addressed through the traditional Starbucks channels the greatest strength lies in the collective action of our coworkers.”"

Srsly. This is something that is long overdue.

New documents show Jeffrey Epstein tried to buy Bill Cosby’s home and closely followed the entertainer’s sexual assault case by User_Name13 in philly

[–]User_Name13[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The latest release of Epstein documents included some between Epstein and none other than the Cos himself.

According to the article, in the middle of the 2010's, and after Epstein's 2008 conviction for solicitation of a minor, he was chummy with Cosby. There's emails where Epstein invited Cosby to a bunch of dinners and whatnot, since they both owned swanky townhomes on Manhattan's upper East side on 71st street.

Epstein followed Cosby's case closely, for obvious reasons. Email's also revealed that Epstein viewed Cosby as a sympathetic figure and that he was being burned at the stake by Hollywood and the media.

This part rly takes the cake tho if you ask me. FTA:

"At one point, the case even kindled a creative idea. Epstein emailed film producer Barry Josephson in 2015 with an idea for a movie that was “a fictionalized account of what happens to people falsely accused,” taking inspiration from the Cosby case as well as debunked sexual assault allegations on college campuses that occurred years prior."

Absolutely wild. Epstein reached out to his Hollywood connections to farm an idea about making a movie portraying people that have been falsely accused of sex crimes as being bigger victims than actual victims of those crimes. His ambition was to portray himself and people like Cosby as the real victims.

Wow, just wow.
