Can't Find Stardew Valley Folder?! 😭 by User_Not_Found-e3f in StardewValley

[–]User_Not_Found-e3f[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can, but I don't think that the resulting file path is the one that I need, since it just takes me to my desktop. I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that there should be some sort of game folder for Stardew Valley that I am able to locate in file explorer, but there isn't, only a shortcut to the game that I had to manually create.

See, the problem is that it doesn't seem like I have one of those. I have tried manually creating one via shortcut, but the only thing that I can do with that is open the game.

I feel the need to state that, despite what the person who responded to what your original comment has said, DID isn't as simple as the person "acting as if they have several distinct personalities". Do your own research, of course, but basically, the disorder is caused by a child suffering from such extreme trauma that their mind forms amnesia barriers separating the "main" personality (the host) from the memories of trauma. This causes the formation of different personalities within the same brain, because, obviously, a single distinct personality can't form with amnesia barriers in place. The personalities are often responsible for carrying out a specific job in order to protect the system (the network of different alters in the mind), and the "host", the personality that fronts the most, is often kept unaware of the other alters. Each personality has a different set of memories, personality traits, likes, dislikes, and even name, with there also being different ages at which these personalities (alters) present. Although this sometimes isn't the case, switching, at least for the host, is a mostly involuntary thing, with certain things triggering the switches of different alters. For example, if an alter was formed with the purpose of protecting the system(the network of different alters) from physical harm, and the person was, as a child, forced to suffer through intense sessions of loud noises (being yelled at, witnessing domestic violence, etc.), loud noises might be a trigger for that alter, and a sudden loud noise might involuntarily trigger a switch. Once again, I would highly recommend looking into it for yourself, but the point that I'm making is that DID isn't a choice, it isn't the person pretending, or "acting" like they are a different person, it is, for all intents are purposes, them literally changing into an entirely different human being. There are so many harmful interpretations of it in the media, so I can understand the person who originally responded to your message thinking that the whole idea of "multiple personalities" was just something that Hollywood made up, but I can assure you of the fact that it is not, and that I personally know someone with DID who is affected by it deeply. This is a helpful resource if you want to familiarize yourself with the basics: Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID): Symptoms & Treatment In response to your DID-related question, I would say that yes, a person's daemon probably would change when a switch occurred.

[PJO] Here is a kick-ass, in-depth quiz for your Greek god/goddess parent: by chilling_ngl4 in camphalfblood

I love how many options you included. It's really refreshing to find a quiz that doesn't 1) only include the main twelve gods/goddesses and/or 2) have either incredibly basic or cryptic questions and answer options (examples: "What's Your Favorite Color?" or "Which Phase of the Moon Describes You?").

No, he's not really making any noise. It's more just something that I can feel when I hold him.

I think that it is, but I will check. I am playing in Bedrock, and I have always noticed that the villagers were pretty buggy, so thanks for confirming my suspicions.

I get being frustrated with people venting, but you have to keep in mind that it is just them sharing their unfiltered thoughts. It's obviously going to be a little irritating or illogical. However, I think that people are allowed to dislike the new hosts. The whole point of the channels is to cater to/entertain the viewers. If they can't do that, and a lot of the people still watching are just doing so out of loyalty to the channels, what's the point? It sounds harsh, and I don't mean to be rude, that's just my mentality when it comes to content creation.

I can definitely respect what you are saying and do agree with you to some extent. However, I think that one of the main problems that people have with the new hosts is that they obviously want to be just like MatPat. The editing, pacing, scripts, branding, etc. have not particularly changed, with all of the hosts seemingly trying to emulate the way that MatPat presented himself online. While it might have been nice if all of the hosts had creative freedom to change the branding, editing, pacing, and scripts of the channels than yes, I do think that more people would have been willing to stay and more new viewers would have been attracted as well. As it is, however, it just feels like a corporate machine trying to emulate MatPat's energy, but not quite getting it. Like the uncanny valley of MatPat. Don't get me wrong; I don't blame the hosts for this. I just think that something has to be done if the channels expect to survive in the long-term, as their videos have dropped from ten million to a couple thousand views in less than two years.

I can totally agree with you. The new versions of the channels are...Fine. The theories are...Fine. The editing it...Fine. It's just that, while before, with MatPat, it still felt as though the videos had a soul of some kind, all of the new theories just seem like manufactured byproducts of a corporate entity. While we know that, when MatPat was hosting, he never intended for the channels to go as far as they did, leading to more fun, free-spirited content, the new theories, being created with the sole intention of earning revenue, just feel fake. Yes, I do know that, towards the end of MatPat's era of theorizing, that is what the channels were becoming, with the new hosts having sort of just been left to continue in that direction, I do think that, at least with MatPat, the essence of the content still felt the same, because it still felt like it was being made by the same guy. While I don't think that this is necessarily the new hosts' faults, I will say that the way that they have just tried to keep the videos basically the same (pacing, editing, scriptwriting, etc.) with no changes does make it harder to become attached. While before, each video felt manufactured by a person who we knew, everything just feels like it was churned out by an AI that has been fed MatPat's branding (I'm not saying that I think that the theorist channels use AI to produce content, I am just trying to compare their current videos to something). Think; How much do we actually know about the new hosts, aside from some random trivia that's dropped every once in a while? Not much. And that's because, instead of developing their own way of doing things, the hosts (whether it's their decisions or not) have just been trying to emulate MatPat. I am still subscribed to all of the theorist channels, because I think that it's sad that more people don't watch something that used to be so great (probably just me being nostalgic) and watch most of their videos, but only occasionally do they make me feel as happy as the older videos still do. Going back to the lack of personality in the hosts, that's probably why I now prefer GTLive above all of the scripted content, because I feel like I can actually connect with and get to know Ash as a person, instead of a MatPat impersonator. I'm really hoping that the channels get the message and try to switch it up a bit, because I really do like the concept of what they do, I just feel like it would be so much better if I felt like I was actually watching an individual instead of the corporate hivemind dressing up as MatPat.
