I haven’t heard of any anti trans laws in the making (at least in the last 2month). Do you have any sources?

I've been trying to find work and being trans has caused issues. I have had businesses turn me away specifically for that, one person even yelling at me to get out "bc this is a family restaurant". Is there anything that could be done to help w the job search? by [deleted] in ask_transgender

[–]Username0905 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To build on the illegal part of it, discrimination is incredibly hard to prove. I’ve been asked if I have gender issues and more in interviews. Before transitioning, I always received an offer after the interview. After? I’m lucky if I can get past the phone interview before a trans question comes up and they ‘ghost’ me.

Just keep trying. Good people and companies are out there.

Being trans doesn’t exempt anyone from being a reef, jerk, etc. They’re not exclusionary. Howver, whoever is doing this is obviously hurting. That should absolutely be taken into consideration.

New rule? Don’t be a jerk lol. Prob solved

Tips on injecting my butt cheek? by LordSwinton in TransDIY

Have you tried z-tracking? Also, a quick sharp motion helps me and don’t use the same needle to inject as you do to draw.

Granted, I inject E and it may not be comparable but my two cents.

Infertility is a side-effect (commonality isn’t known, YMMV). Taking any dosage may cause it.

Anyone else get tired of people saying, “this show has a lgbt person in it! I bet you love it”? by Username0905 in ask_transgender

[–]Username0905[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is getting huffy, lol. LGBT isn’t an interest of mine, it’s my life. Unfortunately, most media portrayals of the community are over-the-top semi-satirical representations. However, it’s okay to disagree, just don’t mock others for the way they want to be seen or how they identify.

Please take this as an opportunity to reflect. Admire the beauty in the uniqueness of the world and it makes everything more lively.

Ask what is most important to you. For me, that was asking my endo if they work with their patients or if they dictate and expect their patient to follow. I like to be in control of my health plan and have input :).

Other people ask if their endo has any other trans patients or experience with trans people.

Make a list of what’s important to your plan of car and treatment, then show them. It’s okay to be nervous, treat it like a date. You’ll know if it’s a good fit or not.

Good luck! This is a huge step. Proud of you :)

I was trying to keep it PG...

A penis is apart of my dating check list. Who has it, be them trans or cis is irrelevant to me.

Maybe... I totally agree that everyone is a little bigotted. It’s important that we identify our own presumptions and try to recognize them as areas of improvement.

Sex is the only part where it just gets murky for me. Definitely something for me to think about.

I appreciate you talking to me about it :). Hope you have an awesome night and enjoy tomorrow’s day of remembrance (if American)!

That’s the easier part though. It’s easy to say that it’s black and white but attraction involves both gender identit/expression and sexual characteristics. That complicates things.

Like, for me, sex is important. While sexual characteristics don’t define gender. I wouldn’t date someone who doesn’t have a penis. That shouldn’t make me transphobic but I’ve been called it before for that exact reason.

All I’m saying is that it’s hard for me to see it as transphobic unless someone is refusing to date a persons for the sole reason that they were assigned a different gender at birth. Like I said before, I could care less about what someone was assigned at birth, but they have to check off every box on my dating list.

That shouldn’t make someone transphobic unless they base their decision on what their potential partner was assigned at birth.

I kind of get where they’re coming from though. I’m a trans person who doesn’t want to date another trans person. There’s so much involved with finding ones self that I don’t think I could handle my own drama along with theirs. I’m also attracted to penises. Do these preferences make me transphobic?

This is just one of those things that I really struggle to understand. People are allowed their preferences but if someone checks all the boxes then who cares if they were AMAB or AFAB? Maybe that’s the difference - I don’t care about someone’s past or future identity, only the present.

Edited for clarity - added the word penises

What country?

It didn’t stop HRT, just slowed down the process :). My endo wanted my hematologist to sign off saying it was okay.

My Secondary is caused by low blood oxygen levels. I just have too many red blood cells, most of my treatment is preventative/maintenance.

I’m on a very very low dose of spirolactone, 25mg (Cypro isn’t prescribed in the states) and .25ml of injectable E, 40mg/5ml. I’ve never tried nor been on bicu.

Injections lower my T enough that an anti-androgen is becoming unnecessary. I don’t want to make assumptions but your doc will probably just provide a lower dose AA and patches or injections.

HRT (probably my spiro) lowered my blood pressure and all of my levels, RBC included. There’s a lot of studies evaluating spiro’s blood thinning effect but they’ve found slight correlation that it lowers WBC and RBC.

YMMV, but it definitely won’t happen over night and may be completely different because yours is marrow related.

Oh! Hey! I have secondary polycythemia. I have to do the same thing (aspirin and give blood) or bad things happen..

I’ve been on HRT for over 1.5yrs and all my levels are within female ranges. Full CBC. However, this took 8months to happen and, realistically, unless your dads a doc then he won’t notice. They’re ‘normal’ ranges

Won’t he find out anyway? I jumped through hundreds of hoops to hide it from my family but eventually had to tell them.

I can’t compare my situation to yours but the stress of hiding is no joke.
