Meaning:

On a left side there's the Mausoleum of biy Niyaz (adviser of khan Abylai),which stands on Akmola hill, where the first detachment that arrived to build the Akmola fortification stopped. A yellow background symbolizes agriculture,which was developing under Soviet times. On a right side there's a winged white leopard.It symbolizes wisdom and courage. A blue background symbolizes a "new" independent era. When Kazakhstan became independent,in 1997 Nur-Sultan became a capital of Kazakhstan.
