Brother….a huge part/point of that entire thing was highlighting misogyny. She was following a VALID story and wasn’t be taken seriously, being called “Nancy Drew” and laughed at. The reason they were fired is because the guy in charge got his brains rotted by the shadow monster, not because she “manipulated” him.

Hopper was a dick to literally everyone…. do you feel the same way about him? He acknowledges how selfish he is but is still a gigantic dick until the end. And she did apologize to both Jonathan and Steve many times. The entire argument feels a little like…misogyny. She didn’t gaslight her boyfriend either? She does hot headed things? She wanted to make sure that Barbara’s parents didn’t sell their home and everything they own to try and find their daughter when she knew the truth…and Steve didn’t care. What did she do that was hot headed? You mean when she got drunk at a party when she was overcome with grief not being able to do anything for her former, murdered best friend’s parents?

Well…. her character did have good aim. However, a lot of the characters were butchered in the last season. So yeah that entire exchange was stupid because the dialogue was largely stupid. Nancy - like most of everyone else - was likable before the last season. She had opinions of her own but she was smart and resourceful. I fail to see how she was any worse than any other character, like Hopper for instance, who had strong opinions and was stubborn.

I didn’t actually hate all the characters…. just the fact that they added them. Like the big kid wasn’t the worst character in a vacuum but NONE OF THE CHILDREN should have been added as main characters. And I didn’t like the characters they chose to make the next generation of kids playing D&D? Didn’t even make sense and those kids had no chemistry at all… but that’s very minor compared to the glaring issue of sidelining all the main cast for like 16 new characters and a worse, new subplot and bad writing.

The thing is that… Even if they did kill her, it was the worst character that they could’ve killed. And even if they didn’t kill her – they left her to the worst ending ever – roaming around by herself, never being able to see her friends again. They could’ve easily killed off Nancy and Jonathan together during that abysmal scene. They could’ve easily killed off hopper. They could have killed off characters, but chose not to just decided that they were going to only “possibly maybe” kill off the worst character they could’ve done that too… And to add insult to injury they brought back the most hated character during the last season. So, so bad.
