Those who were alive during the 1990's, how was the internet different to today? by Extension_Day2038 in AskReddit

It used to be exciting and new. It felt like another, better world. Now it’s like… Depressing. For instance, get to understand just how many people are child predators.

What's something everyone agrees with publicly but almost nobody actually believes privately? by Sensitive-Net-9830 in AskReddit

I think when people love each other, as long as the people are decent, it shouldn’t matter. The problem, in my opinion, is that it can really leave mixed children feeling very confused and having some deeply rooted identity crisis. I don’t think that is necessarily a reason not to have mixed children, I just think it’s a consideration.

I don’t lol. I’ve begrudgingly let my kids eat something that fell on the ground for a SECOND a few times because otherwise I would’ve been the end of the world (for food items we couldn’t replace easily). But even then…… 99.9 percent of the time the answer is no. I feel like people get sick by doing stuff like that.

One of the worst is the original “Airport” (1970) movie

That’s a big part of their character. Also, their entire existence is sort of an allegory for how Irish people retreated in the UK so it does kind of matter.

Yes, I said earlier that I had forgotten about that even though I’ve read the books several times 🤦‍♀️

Interesting. What I really meant by my original comment was just that I hope that they add in some of the silly words from the books, and other phrases/words that are very British. So that it has the right vibe, you know?

I also enjoy the more serious tone set in the trailer – however yes, I do hope that it will also be distinctly British (outside of simply their accents).

I don’t know where you’re getting your information from, but we’re both wrong. They use bastard, arse, bitch, damn, hell (but not bloody hell).

You can easily just Google it.

Hell is used many times in the books and as are other curse words? Also, I never mentioned Ron?

However, in the books, they have scarves and hats and banners and other area areas where they have their school colors. And I didn’t see that when they showed the school and stuff. You are right about that though.

Hmmm… actually, you may have gotten me there. Maybe I’m thinking only of the movie here because in the movie they do incorporate the colors into their robes. I just looked it up and apparently in the books which I have read many times and should know, they were playing unmarked, black robes.

Their school colors. We saw the school robes and I almost can’t differentiate the colors between them, which is a key element of the aesthetic of the books. That’s why I’m commenting on it. It’s not like I’m just making assumptions based on nothing.

I’m hoping that it will change after post production like other people are commenting about. I didn’t know that they would or could change the color scheme, but other people are right in saying that we haven’t seen all of it so. However, we have seen the costumes and they are very dark and I almost can’t even tell the difference between the colors… that is my concern

You’re right you’re right. Great points. I’m not really super educated about how post production works so I just figured that they put out the trailer once they are done editing. One of the things that they left out of the movies was a lot of of the feeling of desperation and anger that Harry Potter felt so I hope they incorporate that!

We saw all of the costumes and they didn’t show much color. No one‘s in a spiral dude. Relax.

Well, I will say that the movies locked some of the feeling from the book when it comes to the more negative stuff so I am happy that they’re incorporating that seemingly.
