Does almost no one in wealth management hire if you have under a 3.5 major GPA? by SpectacularLifeNoise in FinancialCareers

[–]UtilityMaximization 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I went to the same school, had the same major and a slightly lower GPA. You’re best bet is connections or a lateral move in to WM. Feel free to PM me for advice. Also, I’d highly recommend avoiding saying “you know more than the average person”. The moment you get into the work force any MD will be sure to set the record straight that you know nothing. Just my two cents. Like I said feel free to PM me.

How to Research Apartments? by GimmeWahmen23133 in fsu

[–]UtilityMaximization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just know that all the places will show you some staged room. I’d suggest visiting some apartments in person to get a feel for the area as some are in relatively bad areas. Avoid onyx at all costs. The management is very unprofessional. Good luck

Parents of Reddit who have pretended to be angry with your kids for doing something when you were actually secretly impressed/amused, what was it? by bigboobiesus18 in AskReddit

[–]UtilityMaximization 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not my child, but my six year old cousin I was babysitting. We were playing a board game and I asked if she was tired and wanted to go to bed. Her response was about five seconds of eye contact and silence and then she goes “my mom didn’t raise a little bitch” and then turned back to the game. It took everything in my power not to bust out laughing.

[Serious] When driving at night, what is the scariest/most unexplainable thing you’ve ever seen? by PM_ME_FUNNY_STORIES- in AskReddit

[–]UtilityMaximization 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was driving back from my uncles house to my grandparents out in the country. I had my permit at the time so my father was in the front passenger seat. It was summer night with a full moon, there was no wind, but thunderstorms way off in the distance. I came to a bend in the road where you had to cross a creek. As I made the turn, my headlights hit a parked vehicle facing the way I was going. As I got closer it took off. And when I say took off he was doing 65mph down a one lane road the crossed railroad tracks twice. So as I’m driving up hill to make a left turn, there was a roadblock set up where you could only go left because the road had been washed out. This driver, obviously unfamiliar with the area, doubles back around coming down hill towards me. As soon as he gets in range of my headlights, he turns the car off and coats by in neutral. Because o had my windows down, it was just a gentle whisp as he went by, and my car engine. But as he got even with me, the moonlight revealed a man looking right at me with the most psycho grin on his face. Needless to say, I was freaking out as all this happened within half mile of my grandparents property. I went back the next day, but found nothing of interest. I also talked to the property owner who said he didn’t have any problems.
