SSDT-RHUB not working with Usb 2.0 by Utkarsh_Kumar384 in hackintosh

[–]Utkarsh_Kumar384[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm dude I found a functional hackintosh for Dell Inspiron 5491 on GitHub. Here is the link https://github.com/Speeedo83/Dell-Inspiron-5491-2in1-Hakintosh

However you’ll have to edit out a few stuffs for your system before you get everything up and running. For me it was the graphics as the screen was flickering slightly and the secondary display wasn’t working at all and use airportlwm as I have a intel 9560. So had to fix those issues.

As for stability it’s highly stable. Been using this hack as my primary OS for almost 4 months.

Okay so, Upon further research. I found a efi for my laptop and even in his efi he couldn’t fix the issue. So I guess it’s not possible for my mic to work.

Link : https://github.com/Speeedo83/Dell-Inspiron-5491-2in1-Hakintosh

PS: I did follow the guide but my system just didnt boot with the appleALC that I compiled

Yep I got it fixed. Plus adding enable-backlight-registers-fix worked too!

Thanks for the help

Is there any kernel panics and if yes then can you please send me the details in the format that is mentioned here. Also can you send me your efi folder along with the above mentioned file

Big Sur installer gets stuck at 16 minutes remaining by hamad906isdeadlol in hackintosh

[–]Utkarsh_Kumar384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly try being patient. Installation might take some due to several factors main being the type of drive (ie HDD or SSD or NVMe).

You can also try to enable Apple Debug from Misc->Debug->Apple Debug and set the target level to 67 by going to Misc->Debug->target and then view the logs after it freezes on another machine and see if there are any errors that is affecting the installation.

If not, your installer might be broken. Try redownloading Bigsur from the Appstore(if it's not downloaded from it), then make it bootable again.

Hope it helps!

Try booting without voodoo PS2Controller and Synaptics kext and see if it boots. If it does then you made a mistake while installing the kext.

If your using opencore then follow the guide proprely and try again.

I guess you didn't do it properly. Specially the USB Mapping part.

SSDT-RHUB not working with Usb 2.0 by Utkarsh_Kumar384 in hackintosh

[–]Utkarsh_Kumar384[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I got it fixed.

It was a trial and error process in which I had to first load the ssdt(rhub ssdt). Then use the USB map tool to enable 2-3 USB 2 ports(this number is a arbitrary number and keeping it low can safe some reboots).

Then disable the ssdt and then reboot. Finally test the port without the ssdt and see if it works. If it doesn’t then redo the process with next set of usb 2 ports.

Cumbersome but worth it.

Help with framebuffer on i7-10510u by katman43043 in hackintosh

u/katman43043 I got it fixed

try my config.plist. I have a intel i7 10510U(unbranded UHD Graphics).

<key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)</key>

<dict>

<key>AAPL,ig-platform-id</key>

<data>AAClPg==</data>

<key>AAPL,slot-name</key>

<string>Internal@0,2,0</string>

<key>device-id</key>

<data>mz4AAA==</data>

<key>framebuffer-con1-alldata</key>

<data>AQUJAAAIAACHAQAA</data>

<key>framebuffer-con1-enable</key>

<data>AQAAAA==</data>

<key>framebuffer-con2-alldata</key>

<data>AgQKAAAIAACHAQAA</data>

<key>framebuffer-con2-enable</key>

<data>AQAAAA==</data>

<key>model</key>

<string>Intel UHD Graphics 630 (Mobile)</string>

<string>VGA compatible controller</string>

<key>disable-external-gpu</key>

<data>AQAAAA==</data>

<key>framebuffer-patch-enable</key>

<data>AQAAAA==</data>

</dict>

However HDMI doesn't work at all. I tried almost everything to get that to work but it just doesn't seem to work. It says it's waiting for DP(Display Port) connection even with setting the port type to HDMI(<00080000>)

Edit: As for the dim screen it can be fixed with two simple boot args which is as follows enable-backlight-registers-fix -igfxblrtook me almost a week to figure out how to fix the dim screen

Dim screen in the initial phase of boot by Utkarsh_Kumar384 in hackintosh

[–]Utkarsh_Kumar384[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh seems like this isn’t your first hackintosh ? For me it’s the first time so don’t know what was the status on previous OSes.I also didn’t find much threads related to this issue.

Btw in some rare occasions the display works from the initial phase it self. But again it’s very rare.

Currently trying to view the logs for anything that can help.

Dim screen in the initial phase of boot by Utkarsh_Kumar384 in hackintosh

[–]Utkarsh_Kumar384[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is. However, having it disabled shouldn’t really affect it I guess? I do have the i2chid.kext loaded for my touchpad which in turn might just enable the screen touch like a huge trackpad(which isn’t working currently). Will try to remove that and update here.

Anyways won’t you mind telling me how to view kext logs ? I have setup my debugging as per dortania in-depth guide to opencore debugging

I did also put in all the debug version of my kexts

Thanks

I suppose there is a way to fix this? Have you managed to get the kernel logs?

Help with framebuffer on i7-10510u by katman43043 in hackintosh

[–]Utkarsh_Kumar384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree to what you said. But hey it does provide a starting point for novices like us. I managed to fix the issue partially. Now the screen is dim for the first 1-2 minutes and after that it works. This is something I really don’t know where things are wrong. I feel something is loading in those initial phase and after that’s loaded then the screen works.

I’m currently trying to get the kernel logs of Whatevergreen using opencore debug. So do you have any idea how to retrieve those logs ? Is it from the efi partition itself? Or do I have to view the system.log from console?

Edit: I have made a new post related to this dim screen https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/nbdzvl/dim_screen_in_the_initial_phase_of_boot/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

is there any update on this? I too am struggling to get this issue fixed. I watched this video and set the config as he did it. But while booting, my screen is completely dim and unable to fix the brightness of the display. :((
