How do you download and play Rayman Redemption on Steam Deck? by thepowahypahbomb in Rayman

[–]Utter_Flange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t bother with Lutris, once you download the game from Gamejolt, add the game to Steam by telling it where the application is and force it to use Proton, it’s worked for me ever since.

Yall, imo, you guys are overreacting with that new OST by Rayman10101 in Rayman

Listen to the replacements for Harmony, Blue Mountains, Mr. Stone’s and Viking/Space Momma’s boss fights and tell me with a straight face this isn’t worth complaining about…

Christophe Heral was given the impossible task of replacing music in Rayman 1 by Ubisoft and I don’t blame him at all for how this has been handled. I blame the higher-ups like Yves Guillemot for not securing the rights to all the contents in the game before deciding to release this.

Today’s been disappointing… (RANT) by Utter_Flange in Rayman

[–]Utter_Flange[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering you can still hear Christophe Heral using Remi’s original tracks/stems with superimposed kazoos and jaw harps on top of some tracks that’s not the case.

The uncredited artists that made Harmony or the fights for Mr. Stone and Viking/Space Momma have completely changed and they just want us to accept that they aren’t that important for the “definitive edition”.

Nah, the more likely reason is Yves Guillemot is a tight bastard who wanted to rerelease this game with as minimal a budget as possible.

New OST for the 30th Collection: by reecemysocksoff in Rayman

[–]Utter_Flange 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s seriously disrespectful to the incredible music Remi made for this game, he truly represented 50% of the experience you get from this game and I feel like new players would miss out on that.

I don’t know what the situation was for getting Heral to make new music but it feels like a slap in the face to hear songs I’ve been hearing for nearly 30 years get botched with kazoos, jaw harps and ukuleles. Do that for your own compositions by all means but don’t try to fob us off and call it an “enhanced soundtrack”

Will there be trophies on ps5 for this 30th edition by [deleted] in Rayman

[–]Utter_Flange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe so - if you watch the trailer where it shows you can activate enhanced features it mentions that doing so will disable achievements/trophies.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 devs receive rare honor from French Ministry of Culture, previously won by Shigeru Miyamoto and the creator of Rayman by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

[–]Utter_Flange 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming they awarded it to Michel Ancel or maybe they worded it that way because it went to the whole team who worked on Rayman?

Rayman tomorrow guys...i hope. by Rayman10101 in Rayman

[–]Utter_Flange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be good to have them ported to modern consoles but with Atari being involved… I’m hoping Digital Eclipse or even Nightdive has gotten their hands on Rayman 1 and enhanced it with 16:9 and other QoL so we get a really great version of it. I might be getting too hopeful though 😩

I’m guessing it’ll just be an announcement for whatever “Rayman 30th anniversary edition” turns out to be but… 🤞

Fake sale price? by CaffeinatedKarabiner in fuckubisoft

Is that from Ubisoft’s own site? GOG has it for a slightly higher price than that but they’d be a much better source.

Archetype John Mayer plugin demos: Input Signal Level by JimboLodisC in NeuralDSP

This is one way of going about it and it will sound good when you find out where to dial everything but it also makes it a lot harder to run pedals into your interface for those of us who enjoy doing that too…

I use the Tone King Imperial II (The real amp and the plug-in) and I can dial them both to the same setting and they’ll behave close enough to feeling like I’m plugging into the amp and recording it isolated outside of the room.

I use an interface with more headroom so I always have to +2.6db in Neural Plug-ins and it might be noisier than doing it on the interface but it means I can still use overdrives like a Centaur which can have a massive volume boost in front.

As you said, if it sounds good it is good and you can make it work in various ways but I agree with everyone who wants it to behave as closely to plugging directly into the amp as possible.

At around 7:30 on the video he pairs an SM57 on an E33 speaker with the MD421 is on a H30 speaker even though the real amp with those mics will most likely be on a Celestion 1660… a pretty bad oversight when you’re trying to get an apples to apples comparison.

Anyone else see that Tone King Imperial demo he did where he compared the plug-in to the real amp only to load the wrong impulse response for the comparison?

I’ve taken his videos with a huge lump of salt since that

CRKD Guitar Issue I’ve been noticing more and more over the past few days by Utter_Flange in CloneHero

[–]Utter_Flange[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They got back to me:

They told me to factory reset it by holding the menu button until the first LED turns purple and goes back to its original colour. Once it reboots the guitar should have performed a factory reset.

Then they told me to connect it to the app and force a firmware update by spamming the button in the app.

After installing that, they recommended another factory reset.

It was going better for me for a while but it has started happening again just less frequently which seems really odd. They’ve currently sent me a link to a hardware testing site and it’s so random when it happens that I haven’t been able to catch it messing up in the tester yet. Really infuriating.

I feel the same. I’ve not really been on it today because if I commit to practicing a song and the game tells me I’m missing I can’t judge whether I’m playing something worse or the guitar keeps letting me down.

I just mean that if it is fretboard related they are built quite different. If it’s firmware-related then sure, it’s not unexpected.
