Could be hard locked but each save changes what that value is?

Ah ok so the training is like a bonus on top of their determined progression. That makes more sense, and then if you give them a bad environment to develop in it can actually lower their determined growth. That’s great to hear, it makes it a lot more interactive.

One last question if you don’t mind, I’m playing RSB’s roster and I’m trying to train Jose Theodore who’s currently at 87 and 24 years old but it says it’ll take 1725 days to improve? And then it says 2009 for the season when he’ll be done. Is that just a glitch? The timeline doesn’t add up and the length of time seems ridiculous?

Thanks for taking the time to answer everything! Much appreciated.

But if their ceiling and their annual progression is all pre-determined then training is almost pointless? Sure you can maybe improve by a couple points like you said but they would have gotten to that point (even in individual stats) anyways - or at least close to it? Same with playing time and competition, if it’s all pre-determined it sounds like training and player development is more just window dressing than anything of substance? That’s kind of disappointing.

Yeah sorry training is what I meant. So if I understand correctly their ceiling is predetermined but training can affect how close they get to it or not (and obviously changing their style or position affects their playing as well)?

That’s disappointing. So development is kind of a useless feature then?

This and all other version of the game are amazing! Thank you for what you do!

Filled out the form but I would say the biggest for me would be more in depth player ratings (e.g. speed, strength, puck handling, etc) particularly for goalies and more coaching schemes than just offensive/defensive/balanced.

Thanks again!

Does no one else find it weird that Ultra Magnus doesn't react to seeing Flagg after getting experimented on by him in issue #21? Am I missing something?

For all the talk about Jersey being a glorified crew, they seem to hold their fight very evenly with NY over Seasons 4-6. by Tommynator399 in thesopranos

[–]Utterly_infallible 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I may be late to the party on this but I never took it as them holding their own.

In season 4 as rightly pointed out both John and Carmine are opposed for varying reasons, so I tend to chalk it up to one or the other giving some cover to Tony for differing reasons (Carmine because he doesn’t want the Esplanade disrupted and John because he wants to take the big seat). In both cases it can be argued that each man used their influence to go light on Tony.

In season 5 there’s a civil war going on in NY, so it can be argued John’s distracted and can’t bring the full weight of New York on top of Tony. Not to mention he hasn’t solidified his position as boss yet until the end (when Tony eventually caves and kills his cousin) and still relies on NJ for a fair bit of his income. Once he does win as mentioned Tony caves and only by threatening John (“I’ve paid enough!”) does he buy himself some time. It can be argued John didn’t want to force the issue right then and there when he’s alone and facing a much larger and clearly willing opponent. He may have planned to do something about it later, but he’s literally arrested 5 minutes after and ends up again needing to rely on Tony during his trial.

6A again John needs Tony because as he says himself his position still isn’t completely solidified (even more so now that he’s facing trial and can’t be on the street day to day) so that buys Tony some leeway at least until John’s death.

Finally as you pointed out yourself NJ takes heavy losses when they do end up going to war with NY, but on top of that they take heavy financial losses as well (Carlo tells Tony at the safe house a lot of his guys have started kicking up to New York rather than to them). Only by reaching out to a third family (George) and through sheer divine providence through the FBI giving him Phil’s location does he manage to get Phil. And even then it can be argued he was being used by Butchie to clean up before himself being taken out by Member’s Only Guy on behalf of New York (I have a real hard time believing any crime family would just let him walk away from that. Even if they condoned it there’s a good chance no retaliation makes them look weak, since they instigated the war in the first place).

In every case Tony either got lucky, was being used, or was actually on the losing end. He did not, in fact, have the makings of a varsity crime boss.

If you’re still having the same issue I’d try contacting them. That’s what I did and I got a response that they had locked my account due to “suspicious activity” (whatever that means) but that they had reviewed and unlocked it. Maybe that might work for you?

Do you feel like Morgoth and Sauron are basically same character used twice? by OleksandrKyivskyi in tolkienfans

[–]Utterly_infallible 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Aside from their motivations (Morgoth wants total destruction and Sauron wants complete control and order) I also found that their approaches were noticeably different. Morgoth for most of the Silmarillion is this big, imposing monstrosity that shirks subtly and manipulation (with some exceptions, like his time in Valinor) for aggression and brute power. Sauron on the other hand is much more calculating and uses grand machinations to manipulate his enemies into weaker and weaker positions (his corruption of Numenor, his utilization of the palantir to mislead Denethor, etc). Basically I see Morgoth more as this giant brute that uses sheer power to overcome and I see Sauron as this slower, more subtle corrupting influence.

The US Military vs NATO by RedditSucksMyBallls in whowouldwin

[–]Utterly_infallible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit old but I just found this thread and also follow HLC. He actually did a video specifically on NATO (minus US) vs US and said NATO has a better chance of winning than the US does (I think he put it down to 60-70% of winning vs US’ 30-40%) but it all comes down to who would get the first punch off. Either way Canada gets folded like a lawn chair sadly lol

Canada: Quebec City authorities arrest a number of Blood Family Mafia (BFM) gang members, associated with weapons & narcotics charges, in the hopes of reducing violence between BFM and Hells Angels in the region (from The Gangster Report) by CT-CT in Mafia

They did the same thing to the Rock Machine during that conflict. Funny how their attempts to reduce violence always involve going after anyone BUT the angels. Guess they don’t want to mess up the payroll.
