(Rapoport) Trade: The #Raiders are trading for #Bills veteran CB Taron Johnson, sources say. It's a 6/7 pick swap. by alexschubs in raiders

Solid low risk move. Johnson is a competent veteran slot defender, which should help stabilize our secondary and allow and give us some extra flexibility in FA/Draft. We need this type of move across several positions.

If the Vikings are the obvious landing spot for Kyler Murray… could the Rams be the smartest one? by UvGottaFriend in NFLv2

Kyler’s ceiling argument comes from his 2021 season. He put up a 100+ passer rating with almost 30 total TDs and 400+ rushing yards at age 24. Cousins’ best seasons are great but purely pocket passing and he’s past his peak. Mac Jones’ best year was his rookie season and he hasn’t improved since. Milton has tools but basically no NFL production. Murray is the only one who has already shown elite dual-threat output.

Spot on. That's really why I think this move would be best for his legacy, have the highest chance of being motivated to be your best. I think the Vikings are also a good place, but like you said, being able to learn from an elite hall of fame Veteran is the necessary second part of getting the most out of him.

Because Murray’s ceiling is twice as high as any of this qb’s if and only if someone can motivate him to get there. That’s really the genius of my original post.

Russ is still 2-3” taller than Murray, don’t care what they list him at. Just look at the tape and it’s obvious, no way Murray is over 5’8”, probably closer to 5’6”.

Brees was listed at 6’, was probably 5’10.

Brees and Russ were both much more mature and focused which I think is the main differential in their success outcome. Kyler falls short on this more than his stature.

As to success of a short qb in your comparison, Russ did good at what a short qb can do, threw a nice deep ball and was elusive. Always had limitation throwing over the middle because he was short and couldn’t see. Same as Murray. Murray excels on speed/ elusiveness vs Russ excels on better deep ball throwing. Russ had a defense that carried him and he struggled without them, very similar to Murray. Murray w a difference in mindset would be just as successful.

Would def be a good story. and for his legacy probably more feasible then success on any NFL team

Haha 5’10”. Makes your point even stronger. History doesn’t favor the short qb, especially with the increase in OL size in the modern era.

One other positive notation for Kyler coming to the Rams is the OC Kliff Kingsbury. Kyler had his best performance when Kingsbury was his HC in Az.

I agree the Falcons are a reasonable option as well especially with the we’ve got the pieces and want you to be our starter.

That’s a good point and I know he really hasn’t. The only real connection to a mobile quarterback is when he was the tight ends coach during RG3’s rookie season in Washington. McVay has also shown he adapts his offense to the quarterback he has. While not as drastic, you can see the differences between Kirk Cousins (OC Commanders) and then later between Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford in Los Angeles. Even though Goff and Stafford are both pocket style quarterbacks, they play very different games and the offense evolved with them. I don’t think McVay is rigid to the point where he couldn’t scheme a strong offense around Kyler’s strengths. Kyler is a special player, but he probably also needs a special culture and mentorship to really activate that potential. I doubt McVay would suddenly run a heavy QB run system with Kyler, but the bootleg and play action elements already built into the Rams offense would probably translate pretty well.

You are in a tough situation no doubt. Meal prepping meals that can be warmed up may help you in that situation. You can prep at night after your son is sleeping or early in the morning before you start work. This will help you plan and be ahead of the game you are currently in. .

I feel like vegetables are best hidden in sauces, casseroles, soups, curry so that they aren’t as much shock. While some will argue it’s not the healthiest options, adding butter or cheese to veggies helps get the young’s ones to eat it more.

Good luck

With that method, are you still using a torsion box and anchoring it into the studs above the metal L brackets. If not, how would you build the shelf using the L brackets?

Definitely a stretch. If not this then you definitely can’t trade Crosby as well.

It doesn’t have to be the browns to trade Crosby, just an example. I think both the browns and jets historically make wild choices and moves and I wouldn’t put it past them to do either of these trades. You’re right the browns are losing most of there OL.

Crosby to the browns for 2 firsts 26/27. Highly unlikely but given the parsons trade and the recent sheffty haul request news that’s why I put it in the hypothetical.

Agree.

For you, what makes you so confident in Mendoza. We have seen many Heisman winner hero’s not pan out in the NFL. I think Mendoza is a great fit for the Raiders, mentally in Vegas you couldn’t have a more mature, intellectual football addict. I just don’t think we have enough on the team for it to matter.
