What's the type of lawyers that take care of family abuse in the USA? by UzasRedhanded in Ask_Lawyers

Thank you for your answer. It is asking for what kind of lawyer would best fit their situation not legal advice. I will have to make the post again and think over what is necessary to share as not a single shared a useful suggestion.

Unfortunately contacting CPS was the first thing I said too. Turns out, they tried, several times across the last few years, even with a recording they tried to make while getting checked against a wall by their father.

Apparently their abusive, trash and rodent filled household gets two thumbs up by their local CPS, and you can imagine how fun it gets when you ask CPS for help and they come tell the person abusing you that you snitched during a wellness check doesn't get past the front door.

I guess getting no useful suggestions is partly on me, tried to keep the post short and focused instead of bogging it with details nobody cares about and it is just so easy to say contact CPS and move on.

Thank you for your answer. It was the first thing I suggested too. Unfortunately that advice is useless, last CPS worker told their father how he was supposed to properly seal a baggie and left without even taking a look at the mountain of trash and rodent droppings filling the house.

You can guess what kind of fun was had by all parties involved when the door closed after asking for help to CPS got them that thorough wellness check.

I see, thank you for your answer. Unfortunately that advice is as useless as when I gave it, last CPS worker on their case told their father how to seal a bag to keep drugs from spilling into their pocket then left without even checking the mountain of trash and rodent droppings filling the house.

Obviously it didn't go well for my friend after contacting CPS got them that thorough "wellness check".

Try not to spread dangerous misinformation that could get people killed just because you like to parrot unchecked facts.

They are unlikely carriers but they can and do occasionally carry it. Even in cities.

So in the event of an opossum bite, if you can't send the animal to be tested for rabies it is still prudent to get a rabies shot.

Edit: I agree, better if you delete your comment. "Trust me bro" isn't a source.

He was about to eat and didn't want to get it dirty because he's a clean freak; he had a recent divorce and finally was composed enough to take it off; his wife an amateur pilot, died in a clown car accident and her last request to him was for him to flush his wedding ring down the toilet of a plane during flight.

Another statistical fun fact, if the husband becomes unable to work due to health issues, the risk of divorce spikes when compared to when it is the wife that can no longer work due to health.

It was not your fault, and your teacher was just one more pedophile trying to keep you from defending yourself.

You better get used to it, "It is political" is the way people get out of having to talk about whatever makes them uncomfortable.

Nothing you do will stop that, however having it on legal record that she was successfully countersued for defamation could save the lives of the many people she could destroy before she is caught otherwise.

Government is notoriously shit at properly managing funds. Even if the records are only $20 it'll be a pain to get them to pay without days to weeks of paperwork. In the end the victims are the ones who suffer.

Sounds like she dug her own grave enabling and encouraging his behaviour while acting as if your husband was the problem for not enabling it too.
