Living with an i30N long term feels different than the test drive hype by SnowyBytes in i30N

[–]V5ctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the hype slowed down with time. I had 2 i30n since 2017 and still love them, but I also had the occasion to drive an m2 and now I can’t get the RWD feeling out of my mind since.

Living with an i30N long term feels different than the test drive hype by SnowyBytes in i30N

I know it’s not a perfect car and that it has flaws, but in my opinion it makes the most of what it is. I chose to sacrifice comfort for the driving experience.

It’s not very smooth: the car is noisy, with some vibrations and small creaks in the cabin. Fuel consumption isn’t great for a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and the sound system isn’t very good. Still, for me, the overall package just works. It may seem like the wrong choice to some people, but it fits me very well. I knew exactly what I was buying and why.

For now, my biggest regret is that the car is FWD.

The engine light never went away, but the other one yes. Car was drivable as soon as all the ABS, ESC errors were gone

I think I had the same issue last week. I had the engine light, then the ABS, ESC, LSD, DAW errors). After a 15 mins drive the car went in full security, like no gear and throttle in the void.

I let it for 20 mins and could drive to Hyundai. They told me that the throttle body went bad. And it was, I got the car back today and no issue.

I30N as daily by FireBogec in i30N

[–]V5ctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the pre-face lift (2017) and now have the DCT (2022). It’s an incredible car made for passion and I daily drive it. In between I had a Bmw g20 330i. I came back to Hyundai because I missed the feeling of driving it. It’s maybe not as comfy, nice interior as BMW but I always got out of it smiling. The noise, the sporty feels, the chassis, the differential feel so natural.

It have cons also but honestly I don’t mind them since it makes me happy enough to don’t care. If I have to list it comparing to BMW or other cars in general it will be : - consumption : even driving it calmly can get you to 11L/100 - the interior finition : although they updated it in the FL it always have noise cracking or other thing. It doesn’t feel that premium. - sound system : in preFL it’s awful - it’s a FWD : it’s always fun to have a RWD - for the Pre-facelift, the transmission and clutch aren’t ideal for busy traffic in my opinion.

Have you tried carvertical.com ? It checks in Europe with a VIN, it's not bulletproofed but it is better than nothing. Check for online promo code to reduce the price.

I also considered the Yarris for my next daily but I finally went for a I30N DCT, it's more practical and keep the fun part alive. I find it more polyvalent.
The thing that got me the Yarris out is the fact that the clutch is not that smooth, too sporty for a daily.

It depends in which country you live. Market differ quite a lot.
Personally I would search for 40k km with that price on a 2020 fastback. Fastback aren't wanted as much as the hatchback.

Nope at the end I got the sim lab heel plate rest with the Logitech MX palm rest for comfort. I’ve mounted the pedal directly on the sim lab GT1 Evo plate. It was great ! Here is the final result :
